BOOM, you can so do this

Three of the little tinkers! They are my motivation. I remember the exercise and athleticism of my dad and I know how that has inspired me. My only wish is that I can be the same role model to mine.

Excellent. I'd do it for sure. I'd go for a 9 miler this weekend, if you can do that, then your friend and the whole race atmosphere will push you the rest of way, I swear that just being in a race adds 10% through mental resolve alone. Good luck

I've got about 13lbs left to lose, and keeping focused is so tough at the minute! Feel free to add me and keep each other on the straight and narrow

Hi all, friends = accountability = motivation = awesomeness. Feel free to add me and let's smash it out of the park

Hey, I've run 5 marathons, and it is so easy to overcompensate and eat everything in sight because, y'know, you need it ;-) You need to ask yourself, of that 5lbs how much is fat, and how much is muscle? I always prefer to measure myself with body fat % than out and out weight. A little bit of muscle weighs a lot more than…

Go you!! I'm just coming to the same realisation myself with alcohol, I had two recent events, one sober, one very much less so. And you know what? I enjoyed the sober experience so much more - I can remember the whole night, I was up and at 'em the next morning, I saved a fortune, and I saw what drink did to other people.…

Hey everyone - Lancashire based here, happy to be friends with one and all. Sometimes we all need that little bit of motiviation (or is it just me?)

+1. I just love this advice. Thank you

When I started running I totally remember not being able to make it to the end of the street, then having to run walk 2 miles between lamp-posts and having it feel like a massive achievement. Was I a runner? Nah, I don't think so. Even now, after 5 marathons, an ultra 70 mile run, countless halfs, am I a runner? Maybe, but…

My work is desk based, so I'm really conscious of inactivity. I average 13,000 a day, with bad days around 7k, and training days with a long run up to 30k. So what's a good number? Whatever your normal daily count is, plus 5 - 10%. That way your average is always getting higher

Agree with most on here, I'd only eat 50% back, and only then after a long run. I'd never eat back on a non-training day.

12 day in, no loss, but no gain either! Feel free to add, I need to shift this last bit of timber and get lean...

Yep, some good advice on here so far, especially reagrding water, drink plenty and often. A good set of kitchen scales is my tip - its all too easy to underestimate how much you eat. When I serve up dinner for myself, I put the plate on the scale, zero it, add a component of the meal, take the reading, zero the scale, and…

^^^^^^^ what they all said! My guess is you're a pretty neutral runner if you haven't had any problems in all this time, but you should get checked at a decent store. I'm a big Asics fan, but just recently moved to Mizuno Wave Inspire and amazed at how light they are. Ideally you're looking at about 300 - 400 miles per…

:+1: Yeah well done!!! Looking great, big smiles, great story.

Lancashire right here! It's a good app, a good site, a great community, but like anything you'll only get out what you put in  Feel free to add :+1:

Hiya I like the fact you recognise that it isn't all about slimming down, but about getting some fitness and strength too. Diets can be temporary fads and fixes, but fitness stays with you and encourages healthy eating - plus it helps us look and feel good (or great, but I'd settle for good right now haha). Feel free to…

Ah thank you! I honestly beleive anyone can run a marathon with six months notice and a positive mindset.

Lancashire calling! Feel free to add me, I've got a long dark winter training up for the London Marathon to look forward to, I think I might need to motivation.....

Hi all, would love you to add me, I gotta marathon to train for, a tonne of weight to shift, and a big bag of mojo to find!
