Tofu and beans. People seem to forget about them, for some reason.

Agree. It's interesting to see how drastically taste preferences can change.

Absolutely! Any reduction in animal products is beneficial :)

Rice, beans, fortified cereal, frozen fruits and vegetables. I spend $20 a week on food for myself, at most. Buying in bulk, buying frozen produce when you can, and checking flyers for sales and coupons will go a long way.

Try dates and dried fruits! High carb, calorically dense, practically no fat.

Fortified and unsweetened almond or coconut milk. Only 30-45 calories a glass, and a convenient source of vitamin D and calcium.

A whole foods based vegan diet helped me tremendously. I lost weight, my menstrual cycle became regular (for the first time in my life), my skin cleared, along with the lessening of many other symptoms. Frozen blueberries. 70 calories a cup.

Ezekiel bread is my favorite. Sprouted grains, no sugar, vegan, very high fiber. 80 calories a slice, give or take. Hope you find a bread that works for you!

Absolutely! Vegan for two years now, plus we seem to be the same age!

I have some disordered eating qualities as well. Over this past year I've moved from clinically obese to a normal BMI, but the transition was not as healthy as it should have been. Binges and emotional eating are particularly difficult to manage, as I'm sure you know. I've added you! At least you know that you can lose…
