A true "service dog" doesn't bite, even in self defense. They also don't become territorial or protective in a strange place. It takes a couple of years of intensive training to really, truly be a legitimate service dog. And, from the perspective of someone who has a legitimate service dog, herein lies the problem. People…

I think more businesses (and people, and lawyers) need to be made aware of the clause that states that if a service dog is being disruptive or threatening, basically generally not behaving as a "service dog" should, they can be removed from the establishment without repercussions.

LMAO!!! Too true for me today!

My scale has a memory and will just give the same value over and over if the weights are within a certain amount of each other, might be a pound. I believe that's common. So, I keep a 12 pound dumbbell near the scale. I get on holding it, then get off, set it down, and weigh without it. Kind of a pain. I probably should…

Actually I suspect (hope) that it is a popular opinion. I feel that way about kids, too...

OMG, this is hilarious!

FWIW, I have never taken him to the gym. If I'm feeling up to going to work out, I don't need him!

I take huge issue with this which clearly represents ignorance of the life of a service dog. I have an ADA service dog (mobility and balance assist if you need to know). Yes, I have a disability. It's a degenerative muscle disease. Yes, my dog is very well trained to assist me. He has a custom harness that sits over his…

Only if it's an imperial pint. A US pint weighs just a smidge over 16 ounces.

Absolutely this. I'm 5' 2-1/2" but my lean mass is 101 pounds. If I weighed 110 I'd have just under 8% body fat! At 120 I'd still only be 16%. At 61 years old, that'd be terribly unhealthy. A weight of 135 puts me at 25%, and I'm plenty okay with that. We're all different. The number on the scale is only part of the…

Sadly, when I saw the podiatrist about 2 weeks ago I found out that I need surgery on a total of 7 toes.... I'll read that book, Fixing your feet. Sounds like just what I need!

These are all so hilarious!

You guys are so helpful, thanks! Lots of good stuff to try.

Just googled it, it looks interesting! quote="littlegreenparrot1;c-43978449"]I've just read an article about Nordic walking, it would be worth looking it up as it might fit the bill for you. I'm looking into it as part of plans for an ultra marathon, not tried it yet though. [/quote]

I can easily walk 6 miles at about 3.7 mph. Endurance is my strength, but not speed. Very, very interesting about setting myself up for injury. Thanks,I hadn't even considered that.

thanks for taking time to reply :)

not familiar with c5k? what is that?

Thanks for the replies! mbaker, the way I jog isn't running :D . rosebarnalice, I just bought a brand new pair of shoes, maybe that will help. I do need to have surgery on 4 toes on one foot and 3 on the other, so it's kinda hard to determine gait right now. Hoping that fixing the toes will help the speed a bit.

Sorry if someone already said this, but it would be really helpful if manufacturers were obliged to use REALISTIC portion sizes in the nutrition information. One serving of ice cream, frozen yogurt, etc., is 1/2 cup. I actually measured it the other day, and it's downright laughable. It's just a few teaspoons full. I read…

This. My target protein for the day is 90 grams but on big exercise days MFP ups it to 125 or so.

I have to walk 5,000 plus do at least 90 minutes of intense cardio to get to 1500. It sucks getting old (but beats the alternative!).

Some of these really make me jealous. I consider 2000 calories a major binge day. :(

I found that giving up all added sugar for 30 days made all the difference for me. Sometimes I think it's a sugar addiction rather than hunger. And you have nothing to lose by trying it 😃

just hilarious!

I'm 5'2" so if that's too tall, ignore this. I'm 61 years old, female. I have 101# of lean body mass, it's measured monthly and pretty consistent. That's a fair amount for my height. Activity is about 9 hours a week of intense cardio, plus 7 hours a week of lighter cardio. Due to medical issues I've been working with a…

I have a really strange closet in my house. I put clothes in there and 6 months later when I go to put them on they seem to have shrunk! Wonder if I should go in there for a few months? 😆

My husband has had a quadruple bypass, a triple bypass, and 6 stents. His cardiologist told him not to eat more than 2-4 eggs per month. He says that, if you don't have a genetic predisposition to high cholesterol, eggs are perfectly okay. But if you do, then they are not.

I'm 60. No, I don't take anything for blood pressure. My blood pressure is generally about 90/60.
