Prescribed thyroid medication is important. Find another doctor.

Think what needs to change is that you don't need to 'go on a diet', it might be better to go for a lifestyle change where you plan and stick to what you need to do for a deficit, and later for maintenance.

I use body fortress also, I add 1 tsp of guar gum powder before starting the blender which makes it into a thick shake, it is more filling to me, that way.

I have a 4 egg omelet fried in butter with a slice of American cheese and a tablespoon of faux bacon bits, it is plenty filling until lunch.

The people here on this site will give you ideas and support on your weight loss journey. While you might have given up eating certain foods, you will lose if you learn how to plan to eat at a deficit, even foods you see as healthy will not allow you to lose if you eat too much of them.

http://pharmafreak.com/products/fat-burners/ripped-freak/ Often people spend years putting on extra weight. It is SO appealing to think a relatively inexpensive pill will just burn all the fat off. My own opinion is that there is no substitute for exercising and eating at a deficit, and to be successful one must make a…

I checked out the list of new groups(always entertaining) and one has f...ing in the title. Y'all might have initiated a new exercise trend.

I'm craving continued weight loss, and I keep that firmly in mind when visions of sugarplums dance in my head.
-
I bet that would help a lot. It is discouraging to do so much work and not get results, I hope tracking your intake will allow you to tweak what you are doing so that you start losing soon.

I use keto, my own experience is that loss is not linear but eventually, CICO means that if I eat at a deficit I will lose..

I'm not going to bulk no matter what I do :)

Many people have a temporary phase of a few weeks where they don't lose, if they do nothing, they will start to lose again. If one eats at a deficit, one will lose, period, but loss is not linear. To say the refeed was responsible for weight loss sounds like a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy.

A plateau is not a ceiling to stop you, it is a floor to help launch you to the next level of weight loss.

60 pounds is awesome. Rather than 'cheats' why not eat at maintenance for a while until you get going again? That way, you won't destroy your past efforts. I took a one week vacation from my deficit eating and ate at maintenance, after a week, I was ready to go back, don't know what caused the increased hunger that week.…

Buy a copy of Rippetoe 'Starting Strength' and look up some of the free, entertaining 'how to' Thrall youtubes on the internet. I have weights and a bench at home, got them inexpensively second hand, and that allows me to work at my own pace. Like you, I started off very weak but am slowly picking up strength.

I always have sugar free jello on hand, if I have to snack. If you use the ice cube method it takes very little time to jell.

There can be a huge gulf between deliberately choosing to eat at maintenance, and eating all you want without plan or goal. I ate at maintenance for a week or so when I was hungrier than usual, then went back to a deficit. That meant, that while I didn't lose, I didn't gain either. One can gain a lot when eating all one…

That was not intentional, somehow I filled in two areas with answers and they posted as two different replies.

I'm eating low carb, have never done this or heard of the above refeed advice.

Not all foods are equally nutritious, but all calories ARE equal. I had a similar experience to yours, though. I generally eat at a deficit (had a week or so where I ate at maintenance) and after losing slow but sure, the loss stopped. I just trusted that if I continued at a deficit, I had to lose. Sure enough, after a few…

Nice try, but no. From diabetics to MANY people here, blood tests and ketostix are important for their health. And you probably knew that. To wail about the perceived grossness of it all is simply bad manners.
-
I think you are an offensive twit. I have a son with diabetes who has to measure his glucose prior to giving himself insulin, I do not think what he does is gross.
-
Toe, you are not alone. Many of us struggle also. But losing weight IS all about discipline, about eating at a deficit. "I'll start my diet after New Year's" is one of the biggest baddest lies you can tell yourself. You are giving yourself permission to overeat. Ninerbuff was right, if you are not here just to whine, you…

The last gathering I attended, I could only eat about half the foods because I'm doing low carb. I did sample those I could eat but only served myself a spoonful. Take what appeals to you, in a small serving.
-
In some diets you lose a lot of water weight at startup, as well as a little fat, so maybe you could lose 10.

Great explanation, thank you.

Get a copy of Rippetoe 'Starting Strength'. The descriptions of form are very detailed, pages of descriptions for each exercise he describes, with drawings showing both good form and the bad form to avoid.

Exhausted, dizzy, feeling bad could be lack of salt, potassium, magnesium.
