Thank you. I'm going to try the cauliflower idea, it sounds intriguing. Dragonwolf, I buy a curry powder that is very hot but has a lot of different spices/flavors too. The 'bed' helps soak up and lend substance to the flavorful sauce which is every bit as yummy as the chicken (or beef). BTW, the same curry flavoring can…

Low carb under 50, it's working. Few cravings, weight loss, feel better and more energy. I shop carefully so there is always a variety of stuff to eat.

I have another company's version of the bullet, much less expensive, that I use for protein shakes. But I do not drink greens, I eat them in salads. I tried whirred greens a few times and did not like them, and to me, the identity of dried greens would be suspect, when I eat fresh greens I know they are washed and clean…

Drive the acupuncture needle through the refrigerator so you can no longer open it.

I have heard the phrase 'muscle memory' and heard it said that it is easier to recover a level of fitness that to achieve it the first time. Is that true?

We make choices every day. Me, I like the way I feel, I've lost weight, and that would be my choice faced with another choice that might derail all that. I have found alternatives, I use a little almond flour to fry stuff, maybe you could make yourself one almond flour pancake with sugar free syrup some day.

I eat sugar free jello. Maybe for some faux sugar increases cravings, but for me, so far it has not.

If you eat less calories than you burn, your trend will be downward. Period. But it is not always a straight line, salt, water weight, hormones can ll combine to temporary fluctuations. However, you may also be eating more than you think if you are not weighing/counting. For many, counting their carbs is adequate, but it…

Many people go wrong when it comes to measuring. Salad dressing, oil for frying, everything has to be measured and counted. It is very easy to eat more calories than you think you are eating unless you are meticulous about measuring. Also there are temporary fluctuations caused by water weight gained and lost. Have you…

The first week or two was difficult. Now I am happy, not depressed at all, especially since I've lost some weight. Your depression could be several things, possibly the diet, possibly salt, but also possibly personal issues surrounding weight loss. Are your friends and family supportive?

I use a tablespoon of butter to make my omelets, and when I turn the omelet onto the plate there is little butter left in the pan. A tbsp of butter is 100 cals so I count it.

Easy to make low carb dinner: Cut chicken breasts into cubes. Roll in almond flour. Fry quickly in butter. Serve with ranch dressing and green beans.

Playing music helps lifting to be more fun. Bicycling outdoors is fun, there are always things to see and much of the time, people to talk to.

I went several weeks without a loss (actually saw a gain after drinking some salty bouillon for several days), but recently started seeing a small loss again. I believe that if one eats at a deficit, loss is inevitable, but since there are other factors involved such as salt and water, not completely predictable.

It may be that they have in fact made an informed choice, and they are happy the way they are, and are not as you described, motivated enough to change. However, this is a good site and you are here, it certainly would be ok to invite them here.

I'd like to take a crack at translating this: Hocus pocus that is sort of impressive with its warnings of doom. For those who love broscience, this cues them to make whatever follows part of their repertoire. Those who replied were just worried for the OP's health. It would take a very special kind of person to be offended…

Nothing is changing, the vast majority responding don't think it is healthy and have taken time to say so. This site has a lot to offer, but yes men and women isn't part of it.

A reality check: if you take in less calories than you expend you will over time lose weight.

I find myself less hungry eating low carbs, high fat, moderate protein. I don't eat grains since I started eating low carb.

You started back today, good for you. No one is perfect, if you read the posts here tons of people backslide, cheat, etc. All we can do is be the best we can be, and you are trying. How do you 'stick'? Make rules, your own rules. 'No eating after 7'. Go through the house and decide if you want tiny portions of hi cal snack…

After losing hundreds of ugly pounds by shedding several exes (one at a time) I realize the wisdom of people who say that you can't change others to be what you want. You can either do a work-around (your own pantry area, etc.), or you can get rid of him, because he isn't going to live his life the way you think he should.…

I use parmesan, but recently I wanted to fry so I got some almond flour on Amazon. It isn't cheap but I think a couple pounds should last a long time. I eat real bacon but bought some inexpensive faux bacon bits, Aubusson Farms from Walmart, because real bacon is getting to be quite expensive.

I have the Vivofit with HR and love it. More important than any of the individual differences between brands is the fact that for me, it is fun, and it increases my activity level. The HR monitor helps save my exercise that is not walk related as 'other activity' and I can look back and see how long I worked out. All in…

I heard about all that through different sources not this article and this occurred to me as well. I think a lot of what is presented to us is an attempt to influence and not simply reported news.

Didn't read the article, but fried up bacon yesterday to have with my dinner burger, it was delicious.

When you mentioned stress, you specifically described children. If 4 small children is raising your stress level, perhaps you can change that. The 5 year old should be old enough for kindergarten, so you could arrange to trade babysitting with another mom or asking Grandma or Grandpa to help watch the 5 month old and maybe…

I have a Vivofit with HRM and like it. I'm more active with it, that's for sure. And my lifting/exercise sessions that don't involve walking show up on my exercise log because of the HRM.

It's a hobby. Some people garden. Some people bicycle. And some people wail about being insulted. I don't think the last group burns as many calories. But who knows, maybe they are actively insulted.

Are you sure your shakes don't have creatine in them?

You are an adult and she is opening her home to you. She doesn't deserve to be hassled. I'm sorry you have SAD, and hope you have a new job soon and a new place of your own that you can organize to your liking..
