OP - The last part ^^^^ I weigh almost half what I used to Over a few years working at it and maintaining it, what I do now is beyond anything ever imagined possible in the past. You really can change your body and your life when you stick with it and by all means slowly.... And I mean slowly, add in high impact exercise.…

Triathlon I'm more of a bodybuilder that does triathlons I have no desire to be as thin as the best time people are. I like to have thickness and be a little slower. It is about enjoying the event. Fitness is a lifestyle not a race result for me.

Eating a normal healthy balanced diet at the right calorie level... Have food you like! Add some activity you enjoy! That is the secret plan that will work long term you can live with.

A square of 70% or greater dark chocolate each morning It is good for your heart and a healthy treat. For me this is about health and fitness. Not just seeing a scale move! It has been a while on maintenance or slight body recomposition. Keeping it fun and enjoyable is why I have stuck with it for a few years now The…

Frequently and varied I love coffee I will once in a rare while get a white chocolate cappuccino Usually black bold is good I hate weak coffee.

Using some of the sprinkle type of chicken bullion helps give some flavor It adds salt a bit too so you won't need to salt them

Early on in my fitness journey a few years ago I asked for people how they did it I politely waited until she was between sets, asked a drop dead gorgeous woman how she stayed lean. She said she would microwave a bowl of frozen veggies and eat them while making her dinner. It filled her up a bit and got fiber in her diet I…

It is a blend of things. Have you enough fuel in your body to not start burning muscle? Are you straining your joints and support structure? Are the elements like heat and humidity over heating your body? I do some long long endurance 70% HRM cardio. Some Saturday workouts are 6 hours, it is bike then transition to run. It…

Oh that is rough! Cancelled your Tri!! I would be sad... My year end one won't get cancelled There are lots of Sprints and a few Olympics here I hope you are able to run some of them. The bug bites hard. I got my first really good Tri bike. Super anxious to see how it helps my run transition.

That is awesome !!!

Running is a necessary evil I love cycling and swimming. Running is meh... I started running to be able to do shorter triathlons. I started slowly and was sensitive to knee stress. I don't run often but run a 10K once a week minimum. I get my legs worked on the bike so the run is just to keep me at a base level of training…

How good being fit feels I can see some veins in my side and abs It took 2 years to get there Not going back And basically a fitness lifestyle with new hobbies and activities make it unlikely

I have worked out for years. I see some people that lift hard, eat and drink protein shakes, and struggle to add a pound Others like me have to watch every calorie and do intense cardio It is quite apparent there is some difference. These are sometimes people I work with and see this guy eat 2500 calories just at work and…

Say you eat an extra 4000 calories Go do some exercise Get a few 90 minute cardio sessions in It is just fuel. Work it off and don't get a complex over it. The whole holiday weight gain thing is silly Just work it off.
-
I cycle lots A good bit inside on my kinetic trainer now that it is daylight savings time and cold YT vids are helpful I try and get 90 minutes inside 4 weekdays and ride outside on the weekend weather permitting
-
Cycle in harder and normal exertion in a cycling or elliptical machine exercise format Getting the intense bursts helps you Running a 5K isn't a huge deal. If you want to do an obstacle course 5K then you will have to run

Winter is more laid back. Not too taxing but keeping in cardio shape and burning off a little body fat. Daily 1 to 1 1/2 hours of bike at a 70% HRM Monday thru Friday. Building endurance base. Recovery ride pace to burn calories. Add weights 2 evenings, not heavy lifting. More of a maintain muscle mass level of weights. I…

I do it daily It keeps me from letting busy life block my workout. I'm on a stationary bike as I type this. Gotta have my workout and can't let a busy day ambush my fitness plans!!

This is true Adding muscle for women is slow and you will have to really work hard to get it Easy low weight high rep work mortally builds heart strength and endurance if you get your heart rate up a bit and keep it there After a point of fitness is reached, it takes me more intense cardio and then harder lifting to show…

Yes I am running two days a week 5-7 miles then once a month I am running 10K after riding 40 miles on my bike. I add in about 1200 calories that day and keep the two rest days after that at 300 over maintenance. Normal training days I am at a 300-400 calorie deficit I don't want to carry any extra weight. My event I am…

Everything can be awkward the first time The first time joining a cycling team and wearing the skin tight spandex suit was awkward. But everyone else did it and looked natural and confident Now it is really just like any other workout clothing The gym is just s workout You do it just like everyone else and go on home…

So true Eating veggies is a good strategy Patience is your friend. Do your best and accept the results. Sometimes goals that are are realistic hurt more than help

I like 2-3 cups a day. Detox is a strange word for something that is good for you in moderation Check out links to Alzheimer's and coffee. It seems to help. Still debated but interesting info.

I make a desert type of thing a gf showed me A scoop of Labrada chocolate protein. A half cup of coffee and some half and half. A pack or two of Splenda Stir in that spray can cool whip stuff until it gets a nice desert type consistency Cappuccino nice creamy desert that just tastes way too good to be a healthy protein…

Protein calories at the extra 50 grams is good Sleep is equally important. Adding muscle is Work to failure Feed the muscle Rest and grow back stronger If you fall short on either aspect your results will not be optimal. Good luck
