Honestly from experience I have a hard time dieting when drinking diet coke/pepsi. It makes me want to eat things to go with it like chocolate or cakes. I'm doing a lot better since I knocked it on the head. Just my personal experience.

Apologies guys, I completely forgot about opening this thread! @thefuzz1290 Boxers, not tight ones though @JoRocka Yeah good call, didn't realise there was a test for it @dsmpunk Yeah that's what I tend to do, but I'll take the rest on board. @rsclause Thanks for the advice, I'll follow up with it

I'm an accountant, although my new job title will be "Audit Assistant" which doesn't sound particularly glamorous. It will progress automatically to "Consultant" soon though :)

That's a good point, diet just feels so...temporary due to the negative connotations you get from the fad weight loss techniques that fail very quickly. It has to be looked at as a major lifestyle change, that's how I've approached it.

I never had an excuse, it was basically binge eating disorder where I was compelled to eat terrible things well past the point of being full until I was sick on a daily basis from overeating. Took everything I had to get over that for a second time in three years.

As good as I am on my diet, I could demolish unlimited french fries or chicken mcnuggets.

I'm sorry to hear about that, yeah mine was a combination of two emergency surgeries followed by a break up shortly after (fun, eh?) which threw me off the wagon in a big way! Like you say, let's beat this :)

Hey all, I'm a second timer on MFP after losing 70lbs the first time round then subsequently putting it all back on after a tough period, I'm back to do it all again and was looking for friends on here :)

Your body isn't concerned with arbitrary scale numbers, I'm guessing it's a psychosomatic response to coming close to your goal and it taking longer as a result #fauxpsychology

Great work everyone :)

Here was me on my first round when I lost 70lbs, very proud of it. Unfortunately I put it back on with interest after 3 unexpected surgeries that made me fall off the wagon, want to get back to this :)
-
When you initially start, you will lose quite quickly at the beginning before it evens out. Don't be concerned about it, a lot will be water weight being shed.
-
Just for the sake of illustration, this was me last time, from 264 lbs to 190lbs :) Would love to get back to that again!
-
Thanks for the kind words everyone :) Heh it's 14 but I went over to 14.6lbs when I weighed :) Such a struggle isn't it? I've sent you a friend request so we can help each other :)
