Love those ice pack! How creative!

Yes, it may just be water retention or something. My weight can change by a couple of pounds from day to day easily, hence why I like to weight more often so that I can identify those abnormal highs.

3 lbs over is nothing, everyone gains at different pace and that's a guideline only. You'll be fine, I am sure.

Ops, I forgot the link: http://www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html

Yes, 10 pounds is great! Have you tried a pregnancy weight gain calculator? It may put your mind at rest.

Pain relief, stool softener and keeping clean was all I did, and the whole thing really did not bother me at all. In case you are planning more, mine was 10 years ago and I have had two more 10 1/2 pound babies since (2nd degree tear with one and just the one stitch with the next) but I have had no complications.

Glad everything is progressing nicely for you! :)

I would still advice caution if there is no specific requirement for higher doses. Medical advice changes all the time, even this month there has been new evidence published about possible side effects of too much folic acid. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/02/150210083651.htm

Wow, that is a lot of coffee! I have one 7-8 ounce cup in the morning, and since being pregnant I make it a lot weaker so that it goes further. Then I have a couple of cups of tea throughout the day. I think peppermint is ok whilst pregnant, I have never heard otherwise and a quick google came up with this handy list of…

Some women that fall into higher risk categories (e.g. obesity and diabetes) have to take 5mg of folic acid every day. I was in this category so I took 12-13 400 mcg tablets every day during the first trimester. The main risk of taking too much is that it will disguise a B12 deficiency, however, I am sure your prenatal…

OMG, I just looked up what I was at the start of week 25 in my past pregnancies, and in number 1 I was up 22 pounds and in number 2 I was up 17.5 pounds. I do not have the records for pregnancy 3 here, but it was along the same lines. So still being a couple of pounds below start weight at the end of second trimester feels…

They have not even established the link between the zika virus and microencephaly yet - it is all based on epidemiological studies (i.e. rise of cases in mosquito/Zika areas). There has been as suggestion that the rise in number of cases in Brazil is due to the insecticide they use to prevent mosquitos contaminating water…

Whoop whoop! Exciting news about the bump appearing! I have a good appetite too, and also just want carbs and high calorie stuff all the time. Have to remind myself to try the healthier options first and see how I go, but sometimes temptations gets the better of me....

Yes, come to Fit, Fabulous and Pregnant! :)

I hate cramps! Toe curling, literally! I always have to eat a banana every day towards the end of pregnancy to keep potassium levels up and prevent cramps. I get rather obsessed about it, to the point of making my husband get out of bed and go down to get me one (I get SPD so the stairs are difficult) if I go to bed and…

Just remember that a lot of the weight you gain when pregnant is not fat, but rather baby, amniotic fluid, placenta, extra blood volume etc. All of this will drop on during/soon after delivery. So try not to worry too much about gaining some weight. I am trying to not gain more than 10 pounds (OB advice) but know that this…

I am on number 4 (girl, boy, boy and now girl again) and all my pregnancies have been very similar except this time I have gained less weight (but started out much heavier).

I wish! I am studying ATM so all the nesting I will be doing is in the form of writing 35,000 words worth of assignments and dissertations and a couple of exams. Trying to finish in record time so that I can enjoy baby once she is here. I have done little bits of shopping though when something has caught my eye :) I still…

Sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, but looking at the bright side it will keep you tracking and eating healthily until the end :) Exciting news about decorating etc., I cannot wait until I can start baby prep!

I am due in June but I had the blood test for chromosomal disorders. Came back as 1/27000 risk and I was very relieved, then at 20 week scan baby's femur length was low so I was I started worrying again. There is no end to worrying in pregnancy and motherhood, is there? I recon you've got it right, Lisa! No test results =…

Eliz, I lost until week 13 then started going up, but still haven't gone back to my start point and I am 23 weeks now :) So don't fret about eating more :) Great work so far!

Weight is starting to creep on now, but I really feel like baby is growing fast too (much stronger kicks and my SPD has suddenly set it) so I don't mind too much although a pound in a week is a bit excessive! I have some big deadlines coming up so I have spent a lot of time sitting at my desk (until 3.15 am last night!)…

Sorry, I just realised I posted this thread twice! I thought it had gone wrong the first time! Thanks for those tips, Slasher, I hadn't considered either but will give it a go!

Thanks, Fern! Your boy looks so cute! I am glad to hear cycling was ok for you, as I can continue with that at home. I think I will try the rowing machines in the gym (normally detest them but...) and then possibly get one for home if that is a better option. I start antenatal yoga in a couple of weeks too, maybe that will…

PR 5 months post-partum is really good going! I did a half marathon in my first trimester with my third, but then stopped, and this time I did 10ks but got ill around 9-10 weeks and was so poorly for 2-3 weeks that it completely put me off. And yes, it is possible to retrain but it is a bit annoying to have to restart…

I run too, but there is no way I could run now (20 weeks). I always show really early and now with the fourth even more than before and I find it really uncomfortable to run. I also get SPD which gets worse with lots of walking/running. I really miss running :(

Hi Joanne, excellent work! Perhaps you could freeze some healthy meals and buy in some healthy snacks before your husband goes in for the surgery to prevent all the effort from unravelling??
