Hi Gouldy, I had the same problem so hit diet first as this was easiest then slowly built up my training. Do what you enjoy otherwise it won't last and mix it up, don't do just running. Sorry to hear about your situation. Just acknowledging you have been eating/drinking a bit out of control I guess is a great first step. Do exercise you love to do first. I started with cycling and football. Then someone said weight training was the quickest way to lose weight so I started that. Lastly I tried running. 6 months on MFP and I've lost 40 lbs

I too went through a very painful break up, but time is a great healer and working out gives you a natural high plus you end up looking better than before. Keep going, you will eventually be where you want.
