@karebear5891 I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this seems akin to using homeopathic remedies instead of Western medicine. I've read the DSM-V on anorexia. The remedy you're suggesting seems like it would increase their level of fear and exacerbate the disorder. But whatever. Although I appreciate the ideas I've…

Organ failure often occurs as a result of complications of anorexia, not a diet that causes more insulin production, for most people who are diagnosed with anorexia, to my understanding - a body fat percentage that is below 10% to 13% (in females) can cause the body to eat protective fat around the organs, leading to organ…

I'm not anorexic, but my cousin married a girl who (I think) is anorexic. IMHO, your friend probably just needs you to be a friend to her, listen to her, and offer an empathetic ear. "Oh, you're hungry and afraid you'll binge? Same here, I'm on a diet and sometimes I feel like bingeing, too. It's hard, I get it." She's…

Thanks all for your responses. I gather that there are a variety of studies and views on this, and it's good to see everyone's input :)

For the OP (and others reading this): If you eat 1,200 calories a day, which is the minimum recommended per a number of sources, unless you're following doctor's orders (spoken to you, not written in a book), you WILL lose weight. But if you eat less than that, you're likely to binge because your body will feel like it's…

I drink a cup of hot water stirred up with a boullion cube several times a day, which solves the problem for me.

2 words: Lax tea. I drank it by accident once and that's all she wrote.

Thank you all !!!! So inspiring!! =)

Insightful!! Thank you both!! I had no idea and I'm so glad to hear about your experiences.

Bonus question: Is this water weight? So if I go off of keto for a while, would I gain this back? Let's say it was Thanksgiving dinner and I just said..."I'll eat everything." So I'd gain a ton of water weight and then lose it when I went back on keto?

I believe there both answers are right. Everyone thus far has said not to eat when not hungry, and that's worked for them, and it's an entirely workable and good answer. I am of a different school of thought, since I find that forcing myself to eat my daily meal plan (whether I'm hungry or not...before the end of the day)…

2 words: fried cheese (it's really delicious) Here's a website that shows how to do it: http://www.wikihow.com/Fry-Cheese Also, here are some tips from that website, which I think are important enough to mention here as well: - You can also make fried cheese without the breaded part. Farmer's cheese and products labeled…

Thanks everyone :)

I'll keep that in mind, thanks :)

I like hot, flavored (sometimes decaf) tea with splenda (1 tbsp per 10 oz of hot water). Let it steep 5 minutes, then remove the teabag and stir. I usually drink 2 cups after every meal/snack, so 7 times per day, which is a LOT of tea, but it's yummy, and it tastes like dessert. HOWEVER, I count both the calories and the…

I don't know how helpful this will be, for the OP, but in my experience, by taking a daily multivitamin (I like the Flintstones Complete chewable one, which has a lot of the US RDAs at 100%) and a daily calcium gummy (I like Vitafusion with Vitamin D, too, which helps the body absorb the calcium), by using facial…

I just threw out my "carby" food and now plan on eating around 50 carbs per day, and around 1,400 calories per day, which is a nice, slow (1.2 pounds per week, within the recommended 1-2 pounds per week guidelines) rate of weight loss. Already I've noticed a significant decrease in hunger as I work on the LCHF diet, maybe…

Love it

That looks super good. Breakfast for me was/is (I'm still drinking it): a chicken boullion cube in a cup of hot water (already drank it) and 2 cups of hot tea with splenda (still yet to be drunk). It's mostly fat and salt and water :) But I do eat, generally, 7 meals per day, and only during breakfast do I not eat any…

I'm still in the weight-loss phase, though. I plan to binge with friends/family on occasion when I'm at maintenance, however, and then just lose with this WOE until I'm back at my goal weight again.

A - I can't go, I have "X" (substitute in whatever for "X" - I will find a credible but solid reason not to go...I don't do as well when I'm watching others eat tempting foods). B - They eat out and join me at my home when they're done, and I'll eat my usual food. Problem solved.

I'd like to tell you two stories. First, my grandma (on my mother's side) used to smoke. She was addicted to smoking. I remember her, even when I was a child, smelling of smoke on occasion. I never saw her smoke, though. Then one day, she stopped smoking, cold turkey, entirely. Apparently she got pneumonia, and a doctor…

I got it to work - thank uuuu!!!

Which website do you use for the TDEE calculator?
-
Yeah lol I stopped reading after the first few posts as I got super hungry - those scrambled eggs with crossed bacon on top - YUM!
-
I must have missed that - thanks :)
-
Easy on-the-go food, cheap and no prep required - a bag of pork rinds, beef jerky, etc.

We may have to agree to disagree on this one. As a final comment on this topic from me in this thread, I'll link to an article: www.livestrong.com/article/465427-salt-dizziness/

OA is very restrictive and they're not experts - I'd stay away from them. I'd recommend consulting with a nutritionist to find a diet plan that works for you - if that does, then that might also fix the BED, since if you stick to the plan, you won't binge. Also, for moral support, I'd suggest going to weekly Weight…
