  • I saw a sports PT and he had no explanation, I ran on the treadmill with him to recreate it, and I ended up getting resized and got a 1/2 size bigger shoe and I definitely think that helped, but it didn't 100% solve the issue. My shorter run is short because well, I'm just exhausted, normally I would run days 2.5, 2.5,…
  • Yep I've been to the runners shoe store twice, and a sports physical therapist. It starts in one foot, but later in the day I'll feel a bit of tingling in toes in both me feet.. makes me feel like it's something in my back because in the end both feet are affected, sometimes one more than the other
  • Does anyone have recommendations on thin running socks that don't squeeze midfoot? That is where the swelling starts right before I get numbness, maybe it's a contributing factor, but looking I see most socks are that style online, kind of lost? Lol
  • I was in brooks and bought new balance, a wide fit and 1/2 size larger
  • I have them because that's what they recommended at the shoe store because I got blisters from my cotton socks, but all their socks were like that so maybe I could try looking on Amazon or something for socks?
  • My first thought is- I don't want to get any ticks! Lol but honestly there's been a lot of Lyme disease being reported around here... I don't know of any areas to run on a softer surface, but I could take a look online, are u suggesting that I just cannot run on pavement, or that I should try trails for now?
  • I normally don't stretch before, just walk but I did stretch a bit this time in hopes it would help... I actually have had sciatic issues for years, darn pregnancy lol but pitiformis tight muscles etc bug me a tad from time to time... my PT said since I've never had this issue prior to running that it can't be from my…
  • I wear socks from the shoe store where fabric is tighter around mid foot, could that be squeezing too much?
  • 5k was road plus hills, the bike path I do my runs outside with now is pretty flat pavement, some small inclines but not drastic
  • The 5k was hell lol! It was in our town, and it's centered around a waterfall so the damn hills almost did me in having done 99% of my running on a treadmill... I did notice slight numbness in the middle of the 5k but it went away, I gave it my all and then some, I felt pretty healed before running 4 days post race
  • I totally believe you, that does make sense to do slower longer runs, in my practice for this race I ran 2-2.75 miles on average, I will have to set my watch to a slower pace, it's hard not to think during running that going slow is helping me
  • Honestly I was upset learning my time- I had ran my own 5k on a nearby bike path in 35:28 a month prior which was pretty flat... the 5k I ran had inclines and hills and I had zero practice with hills, but I pushed myself as hard as I possibly could, I started crying halfway through the race then cried at the finish- I had…
  • *** thanks everyone, my stomach was still a bit in knots but I think it was just nerves, this was my first race I actually did after doing C25K, I did it in 36min flat (5k in march was 44:48) I was a bit bummed and was hoping for 34-35min but there were lots of hills so it really got the best of me... also anyone end up…
  • *** I solved the issue- my running shoes I bought when I first started running were just too small and couldn't take any extra room for swelling, I went up half a size and got new balance wide, and no numbness or tingling!! I tie them very loosely to where my heel slips a bit but once I start running my foot swells that…
  • I had my laces as loose as possible, literally so loose that there was barely any string to tie them yet my feet didn't slip out! ... I went to the shoe store again and they resized me and agreed my foot was a bit wide, and said he had a hard time deciding between an 8.5 and a 9, and I have an 8.5 now, so I went with a 9…
  • The dreadmill is definitely a word I would call it! But it actually started happening during my run on the treadmill this time... Something really odd I'm noticing.. today it's in both my feet, it just feels like my socks are a tad tight on the tops of my feet and a bit in the toes, there's no pain, but I just feel a…
  • The PT did mention something like this but went on to say that the cost isn't really worth it to see if it could make a difference, but him suggesting that it's a possibility then maybe I should bite the bullet and try half size up... I wear brooks right now
  • Yes I have been anemic in the past! Some years I'm fine other years I'm on iron pills, thanks for the tip
  • Sometimes it's both feet, but this time it's just the one foot, this time around I just felt the warmth, even now I don't feel numbness but my foot feels a tiny bit numb... I have had tons of sciatic issues in the past just because of when I was so big years ago, but the PT said he doesn't think that's the case this time…
  • I definitely have and funny you say that, the PT mentioned that nerve! He thinks it's either 1 of 3 nerves being compressed or pinched while I run, but my laces are loose especially near the front
  • Okay maybe that's something I should do then since the PT was thorough but still a bit puzzled
  • I did get socks from the runners shoe store as I actually had an issue prior that was solved with good socks!
  • No he seemed to not know, he tried fitting me for orthopedics but when I used them on the treadmill I immediately felt New pain, so he said no reason to use them if it's doing more harm then good.. then I continued taking a break from running and haven't been back since because I started running again and had no issues for…
  • I brought them to my PT, they're a sports physical therapy and wore them and walked on the treadmill with them
  • I didn't worry about exercise for the first year and lost 1-2 pounds a week with just changing my diet That being said, as I got lower in weight, it was harder to lose and had to find some kind of exercise. When/if you get into exercise you have to find something that you actually enjoy, rather than it being a chore. I…
  • *** note- other than exercise at the gym I don't do other physical activity, my job is desk job, if that's what it means to ask ms
  • I question myself now seeing these answwwrs... in trying to find a way to include sweets into my diet and just in general some more calories so that I don't binge, I'm trying to find a way to do this and lose weight because as of now my weight loss is stalled. I feel I want to reset my goals on the app again but also…
  • That's my goal here!! I'm down 90 pounds, and it's clearly getting more difficult getting to my goal as I near closer, and my cravings are out of control with how much more activity I'm getting, so I guess I'm looking for a way to incorporate sweets and treats so I don't just go crazy and back to yo yo dieting like I have…
  • It would also increase my calories to 1900, which I don't see how eating more makes you lose weight
