I crave Popeye's mashed potatoes and biscuits, but my reason for not getting them has less to do with dieting and more to do with the fact that the closest Popeye's is an hour away.

Do you have your scale on carpet? You will never get an accurate reading if so. You have to make sure the scale is on a hard flat surface.

OK, I might as well add a confession of my own. I sometimes use my diet as an excuse to not go to certain social events when the reality is that I just don't want to go. I know if I say I can't go because I am trying to lose weight that my friends/family won't be insensitive enough to keep pushing. If I just say no I get…

I know this is a really old post....... but wow. This really got me in the feels. I'm so sorry you feel this way. I hope you find happiness.

I chose 135 lbs. Like many other here I picked my number because it is right in the middle of the healthy range according to the BMI chart. I'm definitely not married to that number, I just don't really know at this point where I will be happy.

My moment was when I went to a regularly scheduled doctor's appointment back in November. My doctor looked at my chart and then looked at me and said, "You know, you have a BMI of 42 right now. If you have any interest you would be a candidate for bariatric surgery." That was the instant that it clicked in my head that I…

I hope this doesn't come across as rude, but you deserve better than a fair weather man that will only love you if you are thin. You're beautiful and if you want to lose weight that's great, but an ultimatum is really unfair.

This. This is so important. Your body does so much for you, in turn you should be taking care of it too. Remember to be kind to yourself. It's so easy to slip into negative self-talk, don't succumb to it. You need to figure out what is best for you, why do you feel the need to clean her plate in addition to yours? Address…

I took Phentermine a few years back. Aside from the side effects that others have mentioned above of dry mouth and dizziness I also became extraordinarily cranky all the time. I was told by those closest to me that my whole personality changed, and not for the better. I decided I would rather be fat and happy than get thin…

I lost 7 pounds the first week, but as most people will tell you it is mostly water weight. After that I leveled out to the 2 pounds per week I was aiming for.

You'll be fine. One day won't completely destroy your diet. Don't obsess over this, everyone slips up once in a while. Get back at it. Good luck.

4 days without a loss is not a big deal when you look at the big picture. I like this reddit post that explains it with graphs of his loss over 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. I think it would benefit you to read it.…

I have to agree with everyone that said coffee. I have a giant black coffee every morning and I swear it works in like 30 minutes.

Great work! You look fabulous.

I'd love to have more friends. I started with 120 pounds to shed and I've lost almost 25 of that so far. Anyone can feel free to add me.

I just downloaded the app and plan to try it tonight. Thanks!!

These are great suggestions, thank you all!

You look so great! Good job with all the hard work you put into this. You were very pretty before as well, and I LOVE your hair in all your after pictures. You are an inspiration.
-
Sorry, this is completely unrelated to the OP question, but I wanted to tell you I love your picture quote.

^ This. What I was trying to say, but you said it better. LOL

I keep mine closed. It isn't because I care what other people think about what I eat, it's because I use the notes section almost every day and the stuff I put in there can be personal information that I don't want to share.
-
It's an interesting theory, but since there are no actual studies linked or associated with it I don't know that I would put too much stock in it. I know way too many people who have lost 90-100 pounds in a year using a 7000 calorie deficit in a week. (2 lbs per week) We do know that weight loss will slow as you get closer…

I think most of us on here can understand that feeling of disgust. It was that disgust at myself that finally lit a fire under my *kitten* to do something about it. You have the right idea, looking at it as an opportunity to improve yourself. You'll do great, good luck!

Just Googled it. If you look on http://www.goodrx.com/contrave you can look at the different prices at different pharmacies. (Looks like $200ish dollars is the norm). The website for Contrave has a discount card you can sign up for to get the prescription for $70. https://www.contrave.com/savings As for the side effects…

This is really inspiring! That is a lot of weight for 6 months. Congrats.

What is protein fluff exactly? I agree that it looks good.

I have friends in your same situation, with a spouse that is unsupportive. One of them told me that he was afraid she was trying to lose weight in an effort to be more attractive to other men so it would be easier for her to leave him. People can be very insecure. Maybe reassure your spouse that you want to get in shape…

I'm in too! Doing my bicycling today. 30-45 minutes

I have a much more significant amount of weight to lose so I plan to reward my large milestones with large things. Here is what I have planned: 20 pounds lost - Fitbit Charge HR (achieved and purchased) 50 pounds lost - Get Invisalign, I've always wanted straight teeth and if I do it at 50 pounds I should be able to have…

I have to say, you were beautiful then and you are beautiful now. Congratulations on the success, you should be very proud of yourself!
