The great thing about that part of town is that they all have militant HOAs and give a *kitten* about manicured…

I run with this when I am not running with someone. Once a year, there seems to be some random creepy dude attacking female runners. I am pretty sure I am safe because I am an old lady and super mega sweaty runner. However, you never know what kind of gross weirdos are out there.…

8/1 = 15 miles 8/2 = 10.5 miles 8/3 = yoga flow class 8/4 = rest day 8/5 = 10.5 miles 8/6 = 3 miles & 30 minutes kettlebells I ran. It was early. It was hot and humid. See, there is your problem. You are trying to run on a “dread”mill. Try running outside - nature, fresh air, birds singing, trails, etc. You might enjoy it. :)

@Elise4270 I don't really pay attention to macros. I find that if I give myself too many "food rules" my diet falls apart. I just try to stay in my daily calorie range.

Wow! Mind blown. I googled “running sandals” and it is indeed a thing. I love when I learn new things. :) They look so blister inducing.... I am kind-of cringing just thinking about it.

@RunsOnEspresso I had a fasting blood draw for a physical 2 weeks ago. I ran a quick 5k beforehand with only black coffee to fuel me. I lived, however, my husband (who went with me because he had a physical scheduled at the same time) immediately stopped at the closest Starbucks. It made us both late however... I think he…

Maybe this would keep my toenails from falling off? 🤔 Airflow and all that.. ;) Haha! Just kidding. I can’t imagine the blisters. When I was in my 20s I would always sacrifice comfort for fashion. My feet hated me for it. Now that I am an old lady runner, I contemplate whether it would be crossing the line to wear slippers…

8/1 = 15 miles 8/2 = 10.5 miles It was another freakishly "cold" day (68 at 5am) in Texas this morning. I managed to squeeze in another EARLY long run before work. I told my coworkers to start throwing books at my head if they see me nodding off this afternoon (I work in a library - lots of literary ammunition available).…

There is one magical water fountain that dispenses cold water on my regular running route. Finding it was like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. It was practically a religious experience. I usually dump a whole bottle of amazing COLD water on my head before refilling my water bottle. All the kids at the…

@RunsOnEspresso Do you have a community rec center? They usually have a cheap day pass option. My community rec center is not fancy but they have treadmills, an indoor pool, and free weights. That’s all I really need to get a kick *kitten* workout.

Fellow shortie runner with little legs over here! Finding the right pace for YOU is like finding a magical sweet spot with running. I wasn’t able to successfully train for longer distances until I discovered it. :)

I am so behind on this thread. I was actually trying to keep up for a while but... Alas, I am lost. I give up. 😂

Oh, your poor friend...ouch! She is lucky she has you around :) Congrats on the great race and AG placement!
