For me they are. I tried to do the whole "I don't cheat, I just work it into my macros" thing - nope. I do better with a "cheat day" once a week.

I prefer MFP + fitbit adjustment. It seems the most accurate.

Naw I'm a SAHM / homeschooler. I actually lost weight being a stay at home mom. The key for me is foisting all of the baked goods that I make (I love to bake) upon neighbors, coworkers and friends instead of eating them myself. Other than that, don't keep trigger food in the house.

Yes. I have a square of Ghirardelli chocolate every day after supper and on Saturday I have a "junk meal" where I eat more calories at supper / dessert and they're mostly from "bad" food. I try to follow 80 / 20. I find that's best for my mental health and I don't get cravings for junk. It's also caused me to examine what…

Quest bars Apples String cheese Bananas Hardboiled eggs Raw almonds Raw veggies and hummus (sugar snap peas are my favorite)

I don't generally drink soda because I don't like the way it makes my stomach feel, but I do have a 20oz sprite zero or diet orange once a week. I don't see anything the matter with it.

That I should not eat fruit because it has fructose in it.

I really only count minimum protein and fat. I try to make sure that I hit my protein number most days, fat number is easy to hit, then I fill the rest up with carbs or more protein / fat.

Well the fact that you bought up that the eggs he buys are "free range, organic, brown eggs" means you must think that is pertinent information. If you didn't, you wouldn't have included it. Brown eggs are not better than white eggs btw, they're just a different color.

"Free range" means that chickens have access to outside. It doesn't specify how much space and for how long. Many "free range" egg operations look like this http://img.wonderhowto.com/img/36/82/63549418846475/0/organic-cage-free-natural-truth-behind-egg-chicken-labels.w654.jpg Granted it's better than a battery hen house…

Lots of domestic animals are "forcefully bred" and the majority of them are selectively bred so that they have little to no maternal instinct. Dairy cows (especially Holsteins - your typical black and white) and egg chickens have very low maternal drive. Many of them would step all over their babies or not allow calves to…

I lost most of my weight without working out. I just did ordinary summer stuff like mowing the grass and such. We live on a big property, so mowing all the grass with a push mower takes 2 hours or so. I'd break it up so that I'd do 1 hour of that twice a week. I also was doing other outdoor chores. I didn't start…

I like my protein bars for lunch because lunch is usually rushed for me. I'm focused on getting lunch down the three kids and sorting out stuff I have to do in the afternoons, so a protein bar and an apple and some peanut butter is my go to. Don't have to cook it, delicious, decent macros.

Just commenting to say that I really, really dislike the notion that someone who's a size 0 has more "self-control" than someone who's a size 2 or a size 10. Not everyone is built to be a size 0. I know I'm not. I weigh 125 lbs at 5'4 and I'm a size 6ish due to a lot of extra skin. No matter how much "self-control" I have…

To do this does one maintain calories or do a cut in calories?
-
It looks like you have a small pocket of fat there yeah. I have the same issue (have lost 100+ pounds). My doctor says there's very little I can do about it short of cutting it off.

I love milk but I only like it whole and that's not worth the macros to me. I usually use unsweetened almond milk for things that need milk. I make my hot chocolate with it. Also I'm "meh" about the whole "ewww animal milk" thing. We had a family cow growing up, I love cow's milk and I won't ever stop loving cow's milk.

Having people you've never met before call you "tiny". It's always a huge boost to my self esteem.

Honestly the biggest thing for me is making sure that I get some sort of daily excercise in. I feel much better if I do, even if it's a 1/2 hour walk with the dogs.

I will ballpark prelog a lot of things. Like I'll say "150g apple" then go back and correct it when I weigh it on the day of. It gives me a round about idea of what I can eat that day.

Quest bars. Berries. Lots of veg.
-
I have all my veg weighed until Wednesday. Thursday - Sunday are usually more up in the air.

Stationary bike. I've been using mine for my cardio since I can't get out and walk lately. Bodyweight based resistance or resistance bands. Plan your food in advance. Sugar free gum helps if you really want a sweet.

I've always been fat. I had gestational diabetes with all three of my kids. It dawned on me that if I stayed the weight I was it wasn't a matter of if, but a matter of when I'd develop full blown type 2 diabetes. I don't want that. I want to be around for a long time.

My go to for dinner is a bunch of different veg (lately it's been brussels sprouts, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, snap peas, zucchini), roasted or sautéed with some sort of protein - chicken, turkey, egg and a bit of cheese on it. I'm raising my calories so I'm also going to add a bit of pasta to that.…

Thank you Judgy McJudgerson?

My cheat days are usually on Saturday because we have "the guys" over for game night. We usually get pizza and I'll make some sort of dessert. They are not hugely over the top but I'm always up a couple of pounds the day after.
-
Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one that does that.
-
You can do cardio without using your legs. Get yourself a hand bike maybe?

Thanks sijomial (you are always such an awesome resource on here btw). Yeah it's a mindset thing. I'll raise my cals to maintenance this week and just see what happens I suppose! It's not like I don't know how to lose weight.
