You will hear it over and over on here... Calories in v calories out. If you arnt losing weight then it's most likely that you are eating more than you think. This app is great for getting portion control right. It's amazing how easily it is to eat hundreds of extra calories because you didn't check portion sizes and…

Your body consumes a certain amount of calories every day just by being alive... That's your TDEE. Let's say it's 1700 Cals per day. Assuming you do no exercise at all... If you ate 1700 Cals per day you would maintain your current weight. In order to lose weight you need to either A: consume less calories, or B: exercise…

Ahhh good to know!

Ohh u know what I do know what they are... I was looking at them a while back. I was interested in taking clomid but my doc said he didn't think I needed it. I might ask him again since I have an impressive set of moobs

Oh that's good to know. I'll have to look into it.thanks for the info!

Since I don't know what those are, I'm going to say no.

Oh I watched that... I must have missed the bit on the visceral fat. It was funny how she went on about how her friend ate twice as much as her and stayed thin, only to be shown that in fact it's her that's eating twice as much. It was an eye opening video, made me become much more aware of portion control, I know I have…

I'm actually on a testosterone injection every 2 weeks (deletesterol). I'm also not allowed to lift weights right now due to my aortic aneurysm. I'm more interested from a scientific perspective, as I lose weight I'm curious if the internal fat tends to get used up faster than subcutaneous fat, or do all the fats get used…

Are you an endocrinologist? Because both of mine say they prescribe synthroid for both hypo and hyperthyroidism. I also have no thyroid now as I had a massive goiter covering my entire throat from in my chest cavity up and around my ears. I also understand that synthroid is synthetic and armour is the naturally dessicated…

Here in Canada synthroid is prescribed for both overactive and under active thyroids. Sadly I have asked about armour and a Canada brand here and all the docs look at me like I'm crazy and have no idea what I'm taking about. They are firmly in camp synthroid. I've had terrible muscle cramps and weakness since going on it,…

Regardless of if you have an overactive or under active thyroid, they will prescribe synthroid. It sucks and takes a long time to get your levels right. I had some very nasty side effects from it, but many people function normally after getting their levels right. Good luck

I think you need to see a specialist... It sounds to me like you need statins and/or some other cholesterol lowering medications. My mom was petite and her idea of good eats was a bowl of dandelion greens and her cholesterol was sky high. Sadly it's the luck of the draw sometimes. Luckily they have good meds to control it…

Describe how it tastes pls.... Slowly...... Ohhh yeah that's it...

Having your doctor almost cry as he tells you he is really worried about you and doesn't think you will be around in 5-10 years seemed to do the trick for me. I hope you don't get to that point

If she rejected you then she isn't the love of your life. Girls come and go, the right one will come along when you stop looking so hard. Don't lose weight for anyone else but yourself. Get in a healthy mindset and lose it for the right reasons. Don't fool yourself into believing if you lose the weight she will suddenly…

I use the website named after a jungle in Brazil to check reviews from customers on how protein powder and bars taste. Find one that's got high protien and low sugar/fat and good reviews and try it. I have some great and inexpensive protein bars from there. Obviously the taste isn't as yummy as a real chocolate bar, but…

An after work protien shake would probably help with the hunger even if it's late. You can get plenty of low cal powders, the fruit ones you mix with water are great.

The doc said I have to focus on losing weight through better nutrition before doing any exercise, they are worried that any strenuous exertion with worsen the aneurysm in my aorta and the cardiopulmonary hypertension. I'm hoping that losing a bunch of weight will help my body heal a bit and at least not get worse. When I…

Haha good one.... I honestly don't find the skippy reduced fat peanut butter to taste any different than normal. Great ideas for the roasted veg. I love balsamic vinegar and I have some great Italian aged 20 year stuff sitting in my cupboard. We went out and got some sweet potatoes and broccoli tonight and I'm going to…

Thank you all for being so sweet, helpful and supportive!

I can't do any hard resistance training because of the aortic aneurism. I'm using flex bands where I can. I also have significant leg weakness which I think is synthroid related but the docs don't know. I also take a multi vitamin and D3 as I live in Canada and its winter. I do not move around much due to muscle weakness…

I agree but I just want to do this right. My doctor says I'll be dead in 5-10 years if I don't lose weight.

Thank you ladies for all your help!!! (Seems to be all ladies anyway) you guys are great!!!

I have one thanks :)

Honestly I have nothing against veggies.... But I have never been a huge fan. I eat them because they are good for me but you will never hear me go "mmmmm that's a yummy raw piece of broccoli" I'm open to suggestions on how to enjoy veggies more without adding a ton of prep or fat/sugar etc

I have an ascending aortic aneurysm and signs of cardio pulmonary hypertension. No diabetes though. But I want to keep fat on the lower side. I've actually been feeling ok with the 1600 calories per day but it's good to know I can take in a bit more to minimize cravings. I cut sugary soda cold turkey and stopped eating…

Thank you for your help, it seems like all I do these days is see doctors lol. Do you suggest a change in the daily percentages of carb/fat/protein? I try to take in as much protein as I can over fat and carbs but generally my percentages are pretty close to the 50/30/20 recommendations

Does it not let you chose the full recipie and all calories and then choose the portion amount as a fraction of the full amount? I.e if you eat 1/4 of the stew, put down .25 as the portion size
