I intermittently fast (no calories for 16 hours). I start the day with water, coffee and a tonic of one tbsp each of apple cider vinegar and lemon juice.

Are those macros her plan? Seems high in carbs and low in fat for ketogenic. If it is ketogenic, most sources ive seen (Youtube has dozens of videos) suggest 70% fats, 25% protein and 5% net carbs (carb grams minus fiber). I keto but also fast intermittently. There's nothing like breaking the fast with a bulletproof coffee.

I haven't seen anything that suggests any issue with a 16/8 fast system. I take off Sunday (no supplements, etc. still keep ketogenic, though) but usually just have bulletproof coffee instead of black.
