I just made basic steel-cut oats in my new instant pot ultra. They turned out great! Just added a touch of honey, salt, and cinnamon. Easy breakfast already made for the next several days.

I just got an instant pot but I'm kinda of afraid to try it. Any super easy recipes for beginners that are very healthy?

I meal prep and dont have problems with it going bad. I even prep salads for all 7 days on Sunday. Everything thrown into the same container, including the dressing. Never have issues with it going bad. Hopefully you can figure out what is causing your food to spoil. Good luck.

I have added some cooked lentils or plain oatmeal to burgers and sloppy joes for healthy filler and doesn't change the taste or texture much.

How long did it take you to lose all of that?

I am the same way. I have finally accepted the 99.9% of the time, I need to eat the "good" foods as I can't seem to use moderation.

Just curious as to what you usually eat in a day as I have realized that I eat a TON of sugar and almost ALL of it is naturally occurring in the foods I eat. Bummer!

@73CL350 My short term goals for right now is just moving more and eating healthier. By 6 months from now, I would like to lose 35 pounds, still be eating healthy 90% of the time, and be able to jog (even very slowly) 5k without feeling like I'm about to die. Yeah, that's how out of shape I am right now, unfortunately.

I am a huge stress eater. So right now when I want to stress eat, I only allow myself to eat dill pickles (only 1 or 2). I dont love them and the vinegar taste helps to stop the cravings without going over my calorie goal. Just an idea that may work for you also.

When I do those 12.5 hour shifts, I absolutely dont workout. I do try to take the stairs at work when I can. It can be difficult to get more exercise in when working such long hours with that commute. I also try to help other people more at work if I can to fit in extra steps. Not sure how it is for you but, I dont usually…

I don't crave as many sweets since have been taking magnesium supplements and no other changes but I would check with your physician to make sure that would be okay for you. I learned that many adults are deficient in magnesium. Also could just try increasing higher magnesium foods in your diet.

I have recently learned that I am an "all or nothing" person when it comes to food. I cant allow myself any treats or things because I can't stop at just one serving. I either eat a whole large pizza or none at all, etc. Sucks but just how some of us are wired.

Night is, and always has been, my worst time for over eating. I have to have a small breakfast and lunch to ration more food for the evenings because I want to eat so much at night. I also plan my food for the entire day either that morning or night before to avoid going over my goals. This works ok so far.

I have only tried tofu a couple times so far but I like it better if I use the extra firm version and bake it so it's more dry and the outside crispy. It's not something that I am willing to eat often due to the texture.

I always keep bags of frozen veggies in the freezer, especially mixed veggies. Stock up at Aldi's or buy on sale. Big tubs of plain oatmeal and just add my own flavorings such as cinnamon, vanilla, frozen fruit chunks, or my kids add either honey or brown sugar. I was never able to male smoothies low cal amd still taste half decent. Even making smaller portions of smoothies still made it too many calories for what I was looking for.

I only eat a small breakfast and then use those calories for a snack before bedtime. I can't sleep when really hungry.

Im only a wanna be jogger. I would like to be able to jog a 5k eventually but right now, i cant even jog 50 feet without feeling like I'm dying. How did you work up to the 3 miles?

My appetite is insatiable the next day after drinking. It seriously feels like my body just can't get enough to eat. And my body won't settle for healthy foods after drinking. It wants fried food and carbs! I don't drink often but I'm looking for tips to help reduce this...other than not drinking at all.
