Do you track rides with an app such as Strava or MapMyRide?
-
Excellent shot!

It's a Strava tracking feature. They have an algorithm that factors duration, elevation, pace, distance and heart rate to give you a Suffer score. Basically he higher the number the greater of a workout you got. When I bicycle I usually have a score between 80-100+

That's correct. Thank you. I know I've come across as a jerk in this thread, but it's really not who I am. I definitely could have done a better job expressing myself.

What kind of support are you looking for? To eat more healthy, be more active, lose some weight? For me it's all of the above!

Just joined. Going for a 20 miler on the 17th. Where is everybody??
-
I agree. And I think those who crash diet like that will be the ones more likely to quickly gain it all back.

For me quitting drinking played a major role. I'm 3 1/2 years alcohol free. Within 12 months of quitting I lost 30 pounds. I'mm sure there were other factors involved but in my case it definitely helped. Not to mention the more positive numbers in my blood work.

I have 37 lbs to go. Looks like we're on a similar path. Good luck man!

This article sums up what I was TRYING to say: Fat and Curvy Are Not the Same Thing It's short and said what I was trying to say far better than I did apparently.

If you eat too many sugars and solid fats, you risk becoming or staying overweight. To minimize this risk, drink water instead of sweet beverages. Eat more fruit instead of sugary desserts. Limit your intake of solid fats from such items as sausages, meat, butter, cakes, cheese, and cookies. And instead of using solid fats…

Well said. Thank you. Whoever's in charge can merge or close this if they wish. Peace out. o:)

And "Diet" and Magic Pills. Gotta love it. I didn't start losing weight until I realized it boils down to making a lifestyle change. I've been able to go from Pretty Fat to now just kinda fat. I'm ashamed at what I did to myself and stopped making excuses. That was the barrier I had to break to finally start getting…

I can't believe it happened, but I had to Thumbs Up that one. I couldn't agree more. You highlighted another pet peeve of mine. :-)

Sorry my point went over your head.

That's also part of the problem. If we need others to feel good about ourselves or to be motivated to take care of ourselves, we already lost the battle.

No offense, but it's just that sort of justifying and deflecting that is making matters worse. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, between 1980 and 2002, the number of overweight adolescents tripled and the number of overweight preteens more than doubled. Long-term increased risks associated with…

For someone who doesn't care what I call it you sure are angry. Maybe you are the one that should be getting over themselves. All I'm saying is that I'm not changing the definition of a curvy woman so over-weight women (or men) can feel better about themselves. Pick a different word. But it's definitely not CURVY. There's…

I've had days where I felt physically great but couldn't do a thing at the gym. A result of the nervous system being over-taxed. I've also had days where I felt beat and run down and had a wonderful workout. A result of the body and mind feeling tired but nervous system well rested. So for me, the answer to your question…

As another person said, mine would be Detox and Cleanse. Don't care for "fasting" all that much either. Don't mind journey so much though. For some people that's exactly what it is.

Walking, biking, dumbbells and resistance bands. But any program will work if you stick with it and eat healthy.

Yes, I said I was fat and lazy. That's correct. And while not every who is fat is lazy, laziness often compounds the problem.
-
I didn't say ugly. That's your thinking, not mine.

Good idea.
