Best squat for me thus far. Background is I'll be 51 next month. I weigh in at a lean 145 pounds. Started weigh training 2 years ago. Barbell back squats 3 months ago. Little ugly but went deep. Can't get bar low due to ROM in left shoulder. https://youtu.be/Tw2BlBGyRzM

Air dyne is easy on the joints but can be brutal when it comes to HIIT.

Try a coffee & banana.

Half a avocado & unsweetened almond milk. Thick, smooth & taste great and helps get the good fats in.

Impressive!

I've read that walking daily is good for you?

I work abs post as thats what I like and the time works. If I could get myself up earlier in the morning I would do them before work but I seem to hit the snooze button. I don't think it really matters IMO when you do it as to how you do it. Keep core tight through out, blow out air , contract abs, don't use hip flexors…

This is what I'm getting for calories and set at. I never changed the goal macro ratio setup when I started this challenge. I have it set to active and 6 workouts a week. It should be set to very active as I'm on my feet all day at work. Additionally I don't have my HIT cardio worked into the goal calculator. Hope this…

Thank you. I don't have that information but I will track it over the next few days and post it. I'm sure you know this but you need to burn that layer off. You can do it! I can tell you that HIT sprints on the treadmill probably helps me the most with it. I still have the stubborn low belly fat to burn. Not plugging…

Thanks for the kudos. My intent is not to mislead nor is a direct challenge to members. Additionally I don't think I'm claiming you can start from any BF level and in 60 days get to low BF. This is a personal challenge for myself that I'm sharing. In doing so I'm trying to convey that older people can get low BF and…

If you do any research they all say abs are made in the kitchen. I have found this to be true in my case. Plus a slight cal deficit. The whole cal deficit thing can be tricky depending on ones activity level. I'm pretty active at work and outside of the gym so fine tuning that can be a pain. You basically have to go my the…

@Laviegurl25. Impressive IMO is when one starts and sticks with a goal rather then sit around and dream or grip. Great results to you and the other posters who have shared.

First pic was 1.5 years ago at 49. Didn't eat that well and smoked a lot. Next pic was 6 months after I started lifting. Bulked up with mostly good choice foods and hypertrophy type lifting following a push/pull. Last 2 pics are last week. Cleaned up my diet Jan 1. Pretty much no sugar or white bread. Cut 100 below…

For reference on measuring myself. My handheld BIA says 26%. My BIA scale reads 21% and skin callipers read 15%.

I'm no expert but everyone burns differently. So many variables from one person to the next. Don't take MFP data as Gospel. Do track your calories and tweak your macros. Maybe more fats will help with how you feel? Maybe not. Maybe you need more then 2200 a day? Maybe not. You are the best judge of finding a balance of how…

Don't think situps are the best? Check out Jeff' s Channel and search for more ab vids. May not be your issue but might get some alternatives? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFIaKrlY-tk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhrkw1aaP8k

I had mine checked last physical just out of curiosity. Normal for my age meaning they are not what they use to be. I'm in Ontario Canada and they don't give scripts out for TRT unless absolutely necessary. We get a lot of American media up here and it seems like TRT for older guys is normal business there? I could be…

Maybe work on your core before trying them again. One arm as Azdak wrote or seated pulley rows might be a good alternative?

Fu&k Age (50) but..... just keep in mind as we age we don't recover as fast so lift and bulk smart.

Can you have your cake and eat it too? Is that the question? I personally don't buy into the "if it fits your macros" but do buy into cheat days. Friday night is takeout for me. The other 6 days is making good choices. I get my fat from avocados and nuts. But as others have wrote. Fill in the data in the goals area (TDEE)…

Different strokes for .....as the saying goes. I use mine so as to show off my vintage selfie taking machine ;-)

I just look around or think about at 95% of the 50 year olds around me on a daily basis. I don't want the middle age spread / belly and feel like crap, eat crap and struggle to get out of a chair. I may look older and grizzled but I'm staying lean and chiseled. Plus I have a picture of Frank Zane in my home gym .. heh
