I bet I would lose weight if I got E. coli from someones poo.

Have you been losing on 1500?

Fruits and veggies, baby. Most nutrients are absorbed better when eating them. Maybe a morning smoothie with spinach, bananas, yogurt/milk? Also, almonds, potatoes/sweet potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, low-fat dairy products.

It could be an allergic reaction OR too much methylmercury. If you are eating albacore, possibly try light tuna? I would stick to the low mercury fish such as salmon or tilapia. Unfortunately, mercury stays in our systems for a long time after we eat it, so you may be eating too much. I would talk to the doctor. Maybe get…

2300 mg/d is the recommended from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. If you are AA, have high blood pressure, are older than 51, or have DM/Chronic Kidney, the recommended is 1500 mg/d. I would try to limit the sodium to at least 2300 mg/d. Honestly, hypertension puts you at risk for kidney problems in the future, and…

Poor mama! I'm sorry you're going through this. And thank you for breastfeeding your little one! Have you tried almond milk or rice milk as an alternative to cow's milk and soy? All vegetables are game, meats, beans, fruits, grains, rice. Maybe some crockpot meals? Check out skinnytaste.com. She has some recipes that are…

Haha. You must be southern. I thought my family was the only one who ate chocolate gravy.

Sorry if you thought I was being negative. I saw you asked for a diet plan and were looking for reversal of the disease. I think it is great that you are trying to help and support your mom, so please don't take that the wrong way. So many people with CKD have comorbidities (like the dad of the above poster with diabetes)…

Revolution Doughnuts-- Decatur, GA They're amazing. They have caramel bacon ones and orange pistachio ones and almond joy-nut ones... Sigh.

Make sure you aren't depriving yourself too much! It isn't about how fast you can lose the weight, it is about keeping it off for good. Protein is good, get enough of that-- a lot of people say it helps to prevent overeating/binging. If you don't enjoy eating the way you have been, then incorporate foods you do enjoy…

Hey! I'm studying now to get my RD. Stage IV CKD means that her GFR is 15-30 mL/min (and therefore her kidneys aren't filtering out the waste products as they should, causing a condition known as uremia). Normal GFR is 90-120 mL/min. Since I don't know specifically all of her lab values and haven't talked to her doctors, I…

Just make sure to get one that has oil separated. It doesn't have the palm oil-- just the natural peanut oils. A lot of the "natural" peanut butters have palm oil (which is a natural product). I store upside down in the pantry or in the refrigerator.

I love Krema!
-
Wow. You look like you're in your 30's. Beautiful!
-
I also spend around $60-80 for one person per week. I do not buy meat, though.
-
I was going to say beans, but then I realized what you meant...
-
I've heard good things about them! I just cut up and freeze fruit and use a food processor, since I already have too many appliances

So, while I was in school we learned about very low calorie diets (VLCD). They range from 400-800 calories. They are effective (obviously) for quick weight loss, but are physiologically like starvation. People are provided special meal replacements and typically lose about 3-5 lbs per week. They're usually used to resolve…

I've never seen two saltines together! Interesting...

I think there is a forum for Ketogenic diets. You could probably go there and get more answers.

You have to pour some coffee back into the measuring cup to get the last drops!

Along with your total cholesterol being high, your LDL is pretty high, and HDL is low. Do you eat fast foods or a lot of animal products? I agree with the person who posted about healthy fats and exercise, too.

Boobs and belly. Jealous of all you butt and thigh ladies!
-
I just posted on these yesterday. I like them and they have lots of protein and fiber. I think they are fine for a sometimes convenience meal, but watch out for the sodium.
-
Oh no, @judyvalentine512, don't eat them! Just go to amazon.com and look them up. The comments are hilarious.
-
@singingflutelady They got me to take the B12 shots, too. I was eating plenty of B12 and had no absorption issues at the time. Extra $20 for them. @senecarr have you had any heart or circulatory issues since you stopped PhenFen?? My mom took those as well. @choppie70 ED? I probably sound stupid, but erectile dysfunction?…
-
@tomteboda Right?! Recommended is 0.8 g/kg body weight (AND). Or 1.2-1.7 g/kg if you are doing a rigorous program and trying to gain muscle, according to ACSM. I have seen people saying 1 g/lb on here.
-
No cups in a mL, but 240 mL in a US cup.
-
@judyvalentine512 Those sugar alcohols do it every time. If you haven't looked up the comments on Amazon for Haribo sugar free gummy bears, do so now.

@Praying_Mantis mine were high once. I realized it was from the water flavoring packets. Once I stopped using those, it went back to normal. I don't know if you ever use them, but just saying!
