Lift weights. It'll make running 5km a breeze.

Lift weights. Seriously. I mentioned this in another thread. I literally went from couch to 5km after just hitting some weights for a bit. I didn't even focus on cardio AT ALL. I started running on Monday. I did 3km in 1 minute run/1 minute walk increments. On Tuesday I did 4km in 1.5 minute run/1 minute walk increments.…

The Olympic barbell might be too heavy in the beginning. I know it was for me. I started off with a smaller, lighter bar. It only weighs 5kg or 6kg.
-
Yahoooooo! Well done <3

Some people are very sensitive.

Low-cal veggies are your friend. Make soups. Make salads. Spice them up. Snack on them 24/7. They are super filling and they contain few calories.
-
Seriously? Starvation mode isn't a thing.
-
All you need is a calorie deficit. You can get it purely from eating less.
-
Not true. Any deficit is important for weight loss. I have lost weight without even trying when I increased my physical activities.

I am 1.63m tall and I weigh 64kg. I maintain at about 1600 calories before exercise. Adding exercise and other activities puts me at 2000 to 2200 calories a day.
-
If only those starving African children could be more stressed out! Then they wouldn't lose so much weight!
-
WOW. Walking IS actually exercise. OP, I log all walking because no two days are the same. I walk a lot because I use public transport but my activity level is set to "sedentary".
-
Measure in centimeters.
-
I don't see why you're concerned about how much you weigh. You're doing just fine!
-
You made a statement and I responded with what I think is an appropriate response. Periods are not a death sentence. Go see your gynae about your periods. You might have cysts or something that is causing your symptoms.
-
No, periods aren't the worst. They're a sign that your body is young and fertile.

Start today.

I believe in low-cal veggies. I also believe in butter. Butter contains fewer calories than oil. Make soups with low-cal veggies. I sometimes make a super filling cucumber and apple soup. It's something crazy like 20 calories per 100ml! 200ml or 300ml is all you need for a super filling meal or snack. Of course, you don't…

I have always been very blessed in the boobage department, even when I was at my slimmest (58kg). According to other people, of course. I can see a definite shrinkage in my boobs after a 12kg weight loss (76kg to 64kg) and I am very saddened by it.

I eat back 50% of my activity calories.
-
I log cleaning so I eat back half of those calories.

Women can't be effeminate. Only men can be.
-
Stronglifts 5x5 and some light stair running.
-
I eat food for breakfast.
-
Yes, you just need to create a calorie deficit by 1) eating less or 2) moving more or 3) a combo of 1 and 2. And you certainly don't need to do "hard" exercise. A walk counts as exercise.

This is an AMAZING post. <3
-
That is an excellent idea!

I try to log those BLTs as accurately as possible. And by that I mean I overestimate what I'd had.

My boyfriend made a malva pudding on Sunday. He had one or two civilised slices. I had the rest on Monday for breakfast, lunch, and supper. That was about 80% of my daily calorie allotment, if not more. I stayed within my calorie limit for the day ;)
