Until you decide to fulfill your life goal of pumping iron on the moon.

Good thing you didn't say 151...

I can understand this, it makes it's own kind of sense and honestly over weeks/months the trend will still be there. Prefer the after peeing option simply because I like the consistency and feel like it can really vary how much is in the bladder to start the day depending on when I worked out and took fluid during the day.

I guess I got used to it. 2-5 hours a day riding a bike trainer in the basement over winter must mean I can tolerate it decently. Zwift makes it nicer for sure though

Something like that :tongue: And that I like it taking the BF% reading, even if it's not worth all that much, and that doesn't work quite so good with socks on!

If you're going out for a run you just bring your phone, open strava when you're ready to start, make sure you have run (foot icon) selected in the top right, and then hit the big record button. When finished hit it again, then select the checkered flag and hit save. Logged!

Not really. For me a good cruising, but not hard, ride is around 230-250w depending on how I'm feeling, which in my case is good for 960-1040 kcal/hr. Compare that with a cruising run at between 6:40-7:10 pace on the treadmill (8.3-9.0) and I'm burning, based on estimates, 920-1050 kcal/hr. More or less the same. Some of…

It's been a little sluggish for me sometimes, but usually syncs within a couple hours for me.

Could not agree more. It took me way too long to learn this. Motivation has it's place, but no matter who you are it will not be there day in day out. Heck there are even days where you aren't even motivated to try and motivate yourself. If you don't have something else working for you...you're out of luck then.

2 hours a day, 17 hours/wk was my peak month. Mostly the same cardio yea, about 85% cycling with a short running cycling thrown in from Sep-Nov. Nah didn't miss life outside the gym because I was outside the whole time :smile: And it's only 2 hours out of 16 waking hours a day. As for overworking my body, I wasn't afraid…

Ah okay, that makes sense then if you can put in HR zones and such!

@Azdak - Whats annoying is that nowhere can I find good values for downhill. All kinds of good stuff about uphill energy cost, but little about downhill. I've found one where they look at cost of running and walking, but it focused on extreme grades of -10% or more, but nothing clear for a caloric perspective. I've got a…

Interesting. How does the bike measure your level of exertion?

Went 180-> 149. Averaged 14 hours a week over 2015, so roughly 2 hours a day.

Nope. But I do always wear the same set of clothes to bed over winter, swapping out a flannel for a TShirt in summer. Consistency is there, but I prefer this because it more accurately gives the weight I will be riding around at when I head out the door for a ride. Never socks when weighing though.

Pretty much what everyone has said. Calories in vs Calories out is weight loss/gain. Thermodynamics is a fundamental law, and if you have gained weight you ARE in a caloric surplus. This is as set in stone as the earth is round or that objects that have mass have gravitational attraction. So, why are you in a (small)…

Afaik Zwift has a particular setting in mind depending on the trainer, and will base it's resistance curve off that. I believe it may also have you do some form of spindown to calibrate that resistance curve. In other words, if it makes you pick 5 then it will know you're in setting 5 and use the appropriate resistance…

First off, assuming you don't pedal like a lazy walk, you'll burn 1000kcal in 2 hours, yes. That's roughly 125w average, which even on a recumbant should be manageable for most any male, even a smaller height guy like yourself. Unless you have crazy aerobic fitness I don't know about, I'd say the absolute worst case…

I'm exactly like you. Epitome of the night owl with my energy rising as the day progresses and usually picking between 10pm-1am. Mornings are a nightmare. There is always going to have to be a level of "just do it". You have to want to motivate yourself to do it. I've got a nice routine that's worked for me: If it's…

This has, more or less, been my struggle. I'm just begun to get a handle on it over the last 6 months, and some things that have helped for me. 1) Paying attention to hunger - What I mean by this is it's very easy, especially when you're used to binging on all kinds of sugar and fat, to start getting cravings. Often these…
