Thanks everyone. I think I need more of my data to get to the best solution. I will continue eating and logging and eating back a proportion of my calories until I can more accurately assess the deficit in correlation to my exercises while losing at a slow and steady pace.

I weigh everything. I am only 5ft3 and so don't really need big portions. I also exercise daily and eat back 50% of my calories. I am happy to lose .5lb a week but I haven't much to lose. I find weighing really helps as you know where you stand. Filling up on low calorie veg, salad etc...helps as does substituting low…

You can but its harder. I find exercise is good for mental as well as physical health so its just part of my daily life.

I never eat all my exercise calories as it doesn't work for me. My allowance is 1200 a say plus exercise...i eat at most 50% of my exercise calories. Im 49 now so finding i need less calories than I did years ago

I used to be able to drink a whole bottle of wine and now I just measure out using a spirit measure so I stay under 200 calories in alcohol. Other alternative is gin (again a measure), slimline tonic and lime wedges. This would be under 110 calories for 2 drinks. I exercise every day so have some extra calories for a drink…

Rejoined mfp recently after buying a Fitbit too. Was at my goal weight just over a year ago but left mfp, had back problems and now need to lose 15-20 pounds. I'm 47 and from Ireland. Have not added any friends yet since rejoining but used to find it very helpful when I last was on here.

Probably the last 10 years or so. Am 45 now and am in great shape and am told I look younger. I got my teeth straightened in my mid 30s (had terrible overcrowding) and this helped my confidence greatly. Also am in a new relationship for just over a year and this is why I feel better now than ever!

Clothes definitely helped in my weight loss (on mfp over a year, left and recently rejoined) Was always quite slim fitting a Uk10 most of my adult life but after back issues had piled on 20 pounds. Lost this and more (33 in total) and now fit a UK8. Most of my old clothes fit great again and I ditched all the size 12s!…

Love Greek yoghurt with some porridge oats and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup. Also a big fan of a poached egg on wheat toast at the weekend or some black pudding on toast too yum.

Have lots of freckles. Gated them as a kid but grew to love them ;)

I was on here for over a year (different username) and found logging great and did it immediately too. Lost over 30 pounds this way. Found that way more accurate than I have been recently. Had decided I could go it alone and left mfp but found I was starting to start bad habits. I was snacking more etc....Rejoined 2 weeks…
