Also an easy way to do singles is to simply do 1-3 singles at your Training Max on 3's and 5/3/1 week and make 5's week a psuedo light week where you just hit the 5 reps and stop there. Doing it at your training max after your top set means you're doing one 90% effort on your normal top set then doing a couple singles at…

You don't need to always test your 1rm and shouldn't always test your 1rm. Pick up Beyond 5/3/1 (or download it like everyone else) He instituted a new thing called Joker Sets so if hitting max singles more is your thing he outlines in that book how to do it. I wouldn't add 10lbs to my bench every cycle I'd add 5 and for…

Yes. The number you need deoends on your workout style, ability to recover and how well your soft tissue holds up to weight training bouts.

Well a rack and barbell should be the main focus of any strength program but if you wanted an alternative you can buy a sandbag from Cerberus Strength for $50 and it's loadable up to around 100kg. What do you do with a sandbag? Clean and press it, squat it, do lunges with it, carry it for distance or time, throw it, buy it…

The difference being if you were genuinely overtrained you would almost feel like you had a flu of sorts as well as likely an ache in tendons and ligaments possibly cramping in large muscle groups. It's actually incredibly difficult to reach a…

To get into strength training I would first find someone to coach you on what most consider the 5 core movements Squats Bench Deadlift Overhead press Bent over row These are the bread and butter of any reputable program. Hiring someone to coach you into learning these may seem crazy but unless you have a meathead pal who…

My experience with calves are they are highly genetic. I haven't done a calf raise in my life and I have monstrous calves. That said you can improve what you got with a combination of seated and standing calve raises. A man named Dante creator of the Dogg Crapp method had a style of training calves called 10 second calves.…

I plop mime in front of the tv and work up a good sweat while watching an episode of a show. I've also heard of people doing this with video games but I'm not coordinated enough and would likely fall off the bike

Cardio and Strength training go hand in hand. Each should be focused on more for the specific goal. To answer the original question OP Don't always go hard, back off from time to time slow and steady wins the race. Dropping 25 lbs should take 25 weeks roughly. Especially with HIIT it can beat you up take a light day every…
