  • I really like cottage cheese - 4% milkfat. And I do like it with small cornichons. That is about 100 cal. Siggi's Icelandic vanilla yogurt is 100 cal.
  • I don't like to bank calories, even if I know I'm going to a special dinner that week. When I don't eat to my limit I end up feeling so, so hungry the next day and it's hard to stick to what I should be eating and not binging on whatever I can find in my fridge or cupboard. If you know you are going to have a big dinner…
  • As long as you stay within your calories guidelines you'll be okay. I tend to track my Cals, but also my fat, sugar, salt, protein, and carbs and I try to stay under my numbers there as my doctor has recommended. I was really high in fat and salt intake and needed to cut it down. But that's me. If you want those prawn…
  • Take it from someone who's been there, if you try 1200 and feel like you are starving all the time go back up to 1450 and maintain for awhile. Sometimes the body needs to adapt to the new weight and the new calorie intake. That said, I am not starving at 1200. I have coffee with milk and sugar, a container of yogurt, or…
  • If you want to try Bircher Muesli, the original overnight oats check out my recipe. I actually live in Switzerland and you can buy these ready made all over the place (but homemade is better!). https://mindyqs.com/2016/01/07/bircher-muesli-breakfast-of-swiss-champions/
  • Bircher Muesli or 2 or 3 eggwhite from hard boiled eggs with coffee and milk. https://mindyqs.com/2016/01/07/bircher-muesli-breakfast-of-swiss-champions/
  • I used to work in a pizza place. I know my pizza. I make this all the time and the family LOVES it. This makes 2 pizzas. 1.5 cups warm water 1 packet of yeast 4 cups flour 1 tsp salt 6 T olive oil Combine the warm water and yeast together and let it start to bloom. Combine the flour and salt together. Then add the olive…
  • Make Bircher Muesli! It's like the original Swiss overnight oats. It will last you a week! It makes 8 servings and is 188cal per serving. And it's delicious. Make up the batch, add the yogurt and berries, and then add nuts right before you eat it if you want. (The calories don't count the berries or nuts you add.) This is…
  • I am a monster. Poor little cake. Never done nothin' to nobody.
  • Hi! I have a great overnight oats recipe. This is a recipe I learned while living in Switzerland called Bircher Muesli. It's practically the original overnight oats! No cooking required! https://mindyqs.com/2016/01/07/bircher-muesli-breakfast-of-swiss-champions/ It's really delicious! It makes 10 servings and is 188 cal…
  • Eat your calories! It keeps your body from going into starvation mode which will slow down your weight loss. When I was going to the gym regularly I was downloading some "trashy" tv from iTunes and only allowing myself to watch it while I was walking on the treadmill. Good luck!
  • ^^^ What they said. Every woman who has had a baby has had to deal with a skin flap on their abdomen. It takes at least a year for it to shrink down to a manageable size. My "baby" is 6 now and I still have a tiny bit of one on my lower abs. Staying toned and running definitely helps keep it small, but it comes right back…
  • Got to iTunes. I use 20 min Yoga Session from YogaDownload.com. They have videos and just auditory.
  • I have PF, too. See a doctor and get into a physical therapist. They can recommend some things. If you don't want to do that head on down to the pharmacy and buy a bunch of different insoles until you find one that works for you. Then think about swimming or taking a spin class.
  • It's January. 75% of the people you will see in there this month are new to the gym. Don't worry about it. Get on the treadmill, plug in your headphones, and walk or run. If you are really anxious and have no experience lifting weights think about hiring a PT for 2 or 3 sessions to get you into a weight lifting routine.
  • If you are worried about the fat or cholesterol hard boil the eggs and eat only the whites.
