I had a small life changing event that started things. I knew it was going to stick as soon as 20 lbs came off and people started treating me differently. I had forgotten what it was like to walk through a grocery store and have people turn their heads.

It has been theorized that this is due to your circadian cortisol peak. Morning usually is the peak of our cortisol levels. That, combined with eating can cause a pretty significant insulin release and drop in blood sugar. Happens to me too.

I used to spend summers in college on an island taking tourists out on jetskis. I met this cute hippie girl and asked her out. Date 1 was meant to be a few hours on a boat off the coast. I picked her up and she was wearing her swimsuit. Looked great. Then we went to the marina and I noticed she had more armpit hair than…

Swimming is a wonderful exercise. It burns calories, builds muscle, and is easy on the joints. If you keep it up and eat well you should see a difference.

My wife had hers removed because it shifted and became a danger. Dropped 8 pounds without trying.

Sent you a request. I was in a similar boat. Needed to lose 45, lost 30, 15 to go. Not sure I can go all 15 since I am now building muscle, but generally just want a 6 pack.

Each and every one of you CAN do it. Rooting for you!

Put a skewer through it and use that to hang it over a glass of water. The bottom half should be in the water. Place in a sunny window. You'll have an avacado tree in no time.

Go burn some of the calories off. I'm having to do that today too.

It's an opportunity to get more exercise in. I plan on drinking with friends and having a good time. I'll just have to get up and work out, run, kayak, etc. so I can still meet m y goals.

I miss eating whatever I wanted whenever I wanted it. :-)

Could you train at a small calorie deficit? Seems like losing weight would be good for injury prevention.
-
My wife was privy, but I didn't really say anything to anyone else. It was obvious though. I dropped about 40 lbs in 3 months. People notice that kind of thing.

Y'all are more than welcome to add me. I'm pretty active, especially since my 41st birthday is 2 weeks away and I have some very specific goals to meet before then.

I like to grill Salmon and make a side of sautéed squash and zucchini (squash and zucchini spiraled or sliced, tblsp olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, garlic, onion, or shallots are also good in it). I'll snag one of those uncle bens microwave rice bags, let the kids eat it, but the wife and I stick to the salmon and…

Add me. I'm here every day.

I often replace a meal with a smoothie. 1 banana, 1 cup of baby spinach, .5 cup frozen blueberries, and 1 cup of vanilla milk. It's good and surprisingly filling for 250-275 calories. You can add nuts, peanut butter, etc. to increase the protein.

I neglected to track my walking this past weekend and substituted kayaking for my calorie burn, but I'll catch back up by the end of the week. I'm at about 5-6 miles now.

I do planks. Not part of my normal workout, but it is part of my 11 year old's daily routine (for baseball ). I do them with him and we have competitions to see who can hold them the longest. It's made an incredible difference for him.

Yeah, from what I've read the faster you work (no down time) the more calories you burn. Weight and different exercises also impact it. I've been logging 150 burned, but have no idea.

Good luck! MFP certainly helped me.

Feel free to add me!

Wife had PF and bought some Vionics shoes. They worked like a champ.

Actually, aren't you at day 3 mile 4 since that was from 6/23? I'm 4.04 miles, day 4. Should hit 6 miles by this afternoon though.

I'm in SC too. Welcome aboard. Only advice I can give is log your meals and exercise!

I think you would find more support if you had a profile picture.

I don't think you need to gain fat at all to gain muscle. Do pushups and bench presses to gain chest muscle.

IMO gyms at apartments or offices are the best. Often times you'll be the only person there. To me it makes getting started easier.
