  • The best explanation I got was from doing a program. Heavy lifting is what ever wait you can do for 'about' 6 reps (4-8), maybe 2-3 sets. So if I can do 15 pounds somewhat easy on my first set of 6 reps, but am struggling to finish my second set, then the weight is about right.

  • When I was getting started I would walk in place on a mat while watching a tv episode. Start simple at first, then higher knees, then add in some side stepping, raising your arms to get your heart rate up. Eventually I jogged lightly in place. I lost my first 20 pounds this way.
  • I do almost the same. I weigh everyday and track it in Excel so I can monitor the patterns. I only record it once I have seen the same weight (or less) consistently for 5 days.
