Bagel thin with a little cream cheese, turkey, lettuce and tomato.

I know it sounds backwards, but drink water to lose water weight. When your body realizes that you're not super dehydrated with sodium, it will release what it's holding on it. Good luck!

Add me! 1420 goal but I try to stay in the 1300-1450 range.

Both burn about 100 calories/mile, so jogging since you're doing more MPH. But like everyone else has said, most people can't just climb off the couch and jog without working into it.

I usually don't say anything unless they ask, but sometimes i'll make a general post about "wow, MFP exercise calories are sure off. 500 for 15 minutes of cleaning?" Or if one person is doing it every day, maybe a "wow, that's quite the workout. Did you run a marathon lol?"

I was 128 all through high school & college (5' 7") which is on the low end of the BMI scale, then one day I woke up and was 140 - still healthy but I could see flub around my waist. I so picked 130 since it's close to my ideal but it's a round number.

They say not to use a diet that you can't sustain forever... Hopefully your changes are more reasonable and you can keep them up in the long run.

I feel your pain. But if you have vegetables and meat for dinner (no grains) you have have a pretty substantial meal. Or, walk a mile and then you'll have 700 calories.

I personally don't agree, but a lot of people believe that dairy is bad for you.

If I overeat, I tend to think "well, now the day is ruined so I might was well binge" so I end up going over by 2000 calories instead of 200. My main way of managing it is not keeping delicious food in the house - way easier to binge on cake and crackers than on cheese-its. And then if I REALLY want chocolate, I make…

I don't. I assume that my Fitbit accounts for all the movement I make, and MFP adjusts my goal accordingly. If I happen to burn a couple extra doing dishes or whatever, I'll just get to my goal faster.

I'm expected to stay at my desk all day (even when I'm taking a break) so some people don't have the same opportunity. I go for a 5 mile walk after work to get my steps in, but it's tedious and I wish I could break it up during the day. Just keep in mind that even though it's hard for everyone, not everyone is in the same…

On a completely unhelpful note - this thread has made me REALLY want an omelet.

Add me! I need more friends like you.

Pasta is probably the food I miss most since I started tracking. Yesterday I pulled out a box, weighed out one serving, decided it was too small and put it back. Maybe for my birthday...

Thanks. My problem with the MFP estimates are that they seem to be all over the place. 600 seems low considering all the noodles, but hey, one meal won't kill me. :)
-
Exactly. I hate breakfast and you can't make me eat it.

I recently quit the 1200/day plan. I didn't have the discipline (I like my wine), so I moved up to 1450. My advice: don't think you can have 5 meals a day. I usually had lunch and dinner, sometimes a snack. Base your meals around meats & veggies - they fill you up and are lowcal for the volume. Get a foodscale, because…

The first minute is the easiest. ;) Welcome and good luck!

This is an existence I know all too well. I drink a lot of water/tea, and then get to take bathroom breaks! I also: read MFP forums that often have nothing to do with me and read books on scribd.com (there's a small monthly fee but it keeps me entertained 8 hours a day, so to me it's worth it). And chew gum. Can't eat…

Good Luck!

Unfortunately, the more you see people, the less they notice. Last year my friend dropped 40 pounds (200 to 160) and I didn't notice. Only when my boyfriend pointed it out and I looked at old pictures was I like 'damn.' If you notice that you look/feel better, that's what counts.

My BF knows I'm dieting and is wicked supportive, but suggests going out to dinner every night. When I say "no, I'm watching what I eat" he suggests drinks. Because rum & coke is calorie free?

Best part about Oreos? They're vegan, so they can fit basically any diet!

Sounds like you're lightly active 90% of the time with bouts of exercise. Set to lightly and then log basketball & lifting as bonus calories you get to eat back.
-
This thread has motivated me to buy a scale- I was perfectly happy estimating until I realized that I could be eating more. I want to be eating more lol

Twins! My BF HATES my pacing around the living room and that I'm resistant to eating out unless they post the nutrition info online. And last week he served me wine in a measuring cup.
-
I go for a walk, usually dragging myself kicking and screaming. It helps in 2 ways: it keeps me from eating for an hour, allowing the cravings to dissipate, and it burns calories so I'm allowed to eat more if I really want to. Also, chew gum.
-
Some people just have different appetites. If I eat 1200 I'm not hungry (though definitely nowhere close to full). My problem is that I WANT to eat more than 1200, not that my body is telling me to.

Yes. Not juice specifically, I'm I'm always tempted to cleanse myself of toxins, even though I know there's no science behind it. If I could really shed 15 pounds in a week by drinking more lemon water (or whatever the claim is) that would be awesome.
