I think it's more about the food when you have kids at home. You can't do everything. If anyone tells you they do, they're lying. If you're going to work out, something else has to be put on hold. If you're going to do laundry or mop or read a book to the kids, something else is put on hold. You have to prioritze and never…

I'm using the Hungry Girl Diet book. I really like it. I dont know about your particular situation, but it's taught me a TON about calories and got the water weight off right away.

I think the Omron is a good fit for me. I put it on my birthday list!

Thanks! I will look into these!

Awww! I've been there too! Every time it feels like it's going to last forever. I haven't been without a baby in 10 years. The most I've ever been able to do is a 15 minute Yoga video (Holy Yoga on Youtube) or putting the baby to bed at night and taking a walk. I can't possibly do a lengthy workout at the end of the day.…

I'm positive it was water at the beginning. I always held a lot of water when pregnant and it seemed like that same swolen look. And I know I needed to lose a little weight because my ring didn't fit. Well now my ring fits and I dont look like I'm carrying water anymore. So now I dont know what the stopping point should…

Thanks! That's fantastic! \

What didn't feel right was that I lost 7 pounds in 3 days when 15 pounds is the max I wanted to lose. I'd always heard that about a half pound a week is great if you dont have much to lose. I think at first it was water weight but I'm having a hard time believing that I acutally lost 4 or so pounds in fat in just a few…

Thanks! I'm learning a ton!

I'm new to all of this but I just want to add that your sugar level does play a role in your overall health. Skipping meals can affect way more than we imagine. It's just science. I think you should look into sugar levels and thyroid. There are ways to eat on the way to work. I did the college/work thing for a while and…

It's the Hungry Girl Diet. So that's basically no sugar, low sodium, lots of vegetables and a fair amt of protein. It's supposed to be really good for low blood sugar, which is what drew me to it. And for that it worked! It does let me eat things I love, for sure. Like mushrooms but you have to measure them. It's 1300…

I'm 5'5" There's no way I can go to bed hungry, that's for sure. Even if I'm at my limit, I still eat a hundred or so calories before bed so I don't go to bed hungry. I guess I wasn't looking at is as a sustainable way to live. Just to lose weight and then add more calories later for maintenance.

Wow. I've never heard any of this before. I've been calorie counting for four days. For days of my entire life. I am learning so much!
-
Okay, that's starting to make sense. This is all new for me. I assumed anything over the calories i'm supposed to eat to lose would actually make me gain.
-
Thank you everyone!

Okay, that makes sense. It changed my calories from 1320 to 1800 something! I really like the Hungry Girl diet. She has great recipes and really taught me everything I know about calories. Which apparently still isn't much. But I felt like something was wrong when I lost pounds overnight. Not that it wouldn't be awesome.…

also, I'm starving right now!

okay. I had to read that a few times. This is all very new to me. So should I try to maintain my current weight and add strenth training? I know I dont want to lose lean mass but honestly, I have no idea what i'm doing.
