The "Level 60" is one of the best "cards" I've seen in a long time. Congratulations!

Did something today haven't been able to do since a slip & fall body slam. A full squat into a sit into a full squat into a stand. Wait! There's more... repeated the sequence with a duck walk in the middle. I'm ecstatic. It's taken six months to regain that range of motion. For my next trick, watch me pull a crab walk out…

My favourite indoor equipment, NordicTrak Sequoia cross country ski unit. Been using one since 1994; bought this one for home in 1996. It still gets good use, especially in the rainy season now. Before relocating, it was in daily use during icy season. Summertime sees more "skiing", too when heat and humidity are…

Nordic Walking is a lot of fun, especially answering passer-by questions ;-). I'm another one who has been using them for a long while. Glad to know there are a few of us on MFP. Information for anyone else who's interested in Nordic Walking: If you get poles that can be fitted with "boots" you can use the poles indoors,…

It's refreshing to have a rational discussion on depression. Hope it's okay with the OP to chat about the differences between depression and feeling depressed/ blue/ blah/ meh/ sad/ frustrated/ maybe even down and dirty angry/PO'd... I have a major depressive disorder and I feel depressed sometimes. The neurotransmitter…

TeeHee... "Organ Recitals". That is priceless! Sometimes, for some people, it's just something current to talk about, other than politics, or religion, or sex. Health issues don't seem quite the taboo, yes? I have dear family who prefer discussing their current "healthy lifestyle", complete with gushing explecatives and…

When this point is added to the mindset "I've achieved my goal (weight, etc.)" it compounds. Many times those whose only goal was to lose weight, especially for an event or special occasion, the "diet" is over. They've overlooked the lifetime commitments to maintaining their new weight.

@AnnPT77 Thank You! You made a profound observation; one many of us need to remember. This is worth a separate thread. @EatSleepRideRun hat's off to you. That's an intense race schedule for 2016. Noticed you're estimating 2-plus hours for the HMs O_O... you be booking... not plodding by any stretch of the imagination.…

Hello! Figured a polite introduction was in order. Have enjoyed reading everyone's posts. On April Fools Day 2015, I the Fool, didn't get my prescription for anti-depressants refilled... an insurance SNAFU. Without those meds I spiral slowly into an apathetic state of inertia. Finally by November's Thanksgiving Monday I…

O_O. Okay, I shall admit I have the sense of humour of a 9-year old. This is one of the funniest things I've heard on the "Cleanse Front". Cleansing and clean eating still gives me a dreadful case of giggles. I do listen intently when a loved one is kind and concerned enough to divulge her secrets of outstanding health,…

...good for walking outside, circuit training, elliptical & treadmill... Noticed you lead in with walking. My favourite :) . As others have recommended, it is beneficial to have your feet measured (length and width) then try on several styles of shoes. Running shoes are built differently from walking shoes. You may not…

Star, didn't & don't want to derail your original question :) about "muskelles" HaHa (if you remember Popeye & his tin of spinach...) Yes. Weight & strength training is an undiscussed option for people with FM/MPS. Usually Physios avoid suggesting it as many patients are resistant to or avoidant of. I purposely talked with…

Star1407, I too have FM/MPS (dxd 1995). Started working with a Physical Therapist the beginning of November 2015. She has me working with dumb & barbells learning squats, deadlifts, and overhead presses. All of the forms right now are for functional movements, 5 sets of 3 reps, with increments of 1.25#. I also do…
