  • That is amazing. Thank you for sharing. I suffer extreme fatigue amongst other conditions, having a chart like this for those 'brain fog' times will be so helpful. Although I am not diabetic nor need to miss out carbs, this is so good. I can always add bits I like to this knowing I will always have a good nutritious base.…
  • I remember Ayds. I still have a used box that contains old PG Tips cards :-P
  • Do you have a farmer's market or similar where you live kittycat? In our supermarkets grapes for instance will cost between £1.50-3.00 for a punnet or bunch. In our city centre you can get 2 punnets for £1. I definitely can be difficult not to have rubbish quality food that is cheap. Everything seems to be so full of sugar…
  • Mine is from in my 20's. I got on like a house on fire with a friend's boyfriend. When she split up with him she suggested we tried a date together since we got on so well. My 'date' arranged to meet me at a certain rail station and then to go on to a pub. When I arrived at the rail station he walked me to this pub that…
  • Hi everyone. After taking Holly_belle's excellent advice I have created a group. I have tried putting in your names in the invite section but MFP is saying there is no such person! If you would like to join, this is the link: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/114346-an-activity-a-day-for-health-challenged-folk I…
  • Thanks Holly_belle. I shall do that and invite those here who are interested.
  • Hi all. It is a bit confusing as under FAQ for challenges it says they are only available for those in the US; but this challenge is showing under challenges in my list. I have clicked on the star button which adds the group/challenge to favourites which seems to be another way of doing it. The official MFP instructions…
  • Welcome rjsangel84. As above, I think you just post each day here. But I am going to double check I am correct a little later.
  • As far as I know m_halla110, I think we just post here as and when each day. That's what I am hoping :) I will kick it off for today. I have mobility and lung problems along with chronic pain. I adapt dance and exercise so I can do what I can. I should have also mentioned I created this for all types of health problems and…
  • Ooh! That sounds lovely. I will definitely try this. Thank you. Have you worked out the calories and macros? Or is it a case of throw it all together and go go go:-)
  • Just to let you know, I haven't forgotten about trying the above. Health and circumstances have got in the way. I have certain things to do and hope to update in around 10 days. Sorry for the delay.
  • I think it can be quite difficult to get the balance right, especially if on a low income and reliant on State Benefit. Here in England there is a website that has a specific board for eating on a budget. However, many of the foodstuff is poor quality. For example it will be suggested where to get a chicken at a low price…
  • I do have some hemp protein powder (I know you said not powder), but it has more fat in than the grass-fed whey isolate. I am going to try upping the protein powder and adding slightly cooked quinoa to see how it goes and tastes. I will report back to let you know.
  • I never knew Black & Decker made them. I've learnt something there
  • Yes I did but it could still be dull [/quote] I had only used it about 5 times rhapsodygal. It was a replacement for the micro version I had as I couldn't hold the button down for more than a few seconds. The few things I have done in this version has been superb. As almonds are harder than macadamias, I intend to do the…
  • One has to ask: when is a snack a mini meal
  • Did you not read my processor is a Magimix and I have only recently bought it?
  • Do you still roast them even if they are described as already roasted?
  • That is interesting as these nuts were 'off the shelf' this time and not organic. I will have to buy some organic Macadamia and process them exactly the same to see if there is any difference. Also possibly buy some more of the 'ordinary' ones and try roasting them first before processing and see if they still grind down…
  • Just had a brilliant success :D My experiment with the macadamia nuts has paid off. No roasting, no soaking, just thrown in, pulsed and then was ready in 4-5 minutes with a couple of stops to 'spatulate down.' (new word I think). I added a little honey and it is heaven on toast.
  • mweckler. The magimix is well known for being one of the better 'heavy duty' brands, and I only bought it a short while ago. I also have the Ninja Auto IQ which has been brilliant for smoothies, soups etc. I have read that some make nut butters in their blenders, but I should imagine 1: you would have to make a lot of it.…
  • See above mweckler. Have done all this with varying degrees of timings and every time with the almonds it is the same. I have had limited success with walnuts and macadamia but still had to add oil and it was ultra grainy
  • Thanks for your input everyone but I have tried all these methods in my FOOD PROCESSOR. The only reason I let it run for so long was desperation because the stop start method was not working. I have tried several times both in the main unit and also with the mini bowl. As vegmebuff has said, I too had read about the warmth…
  • I use an electronic pressure cooker on most occasions for cooking rice. If not I just do it the traditional way and finish off with a tea towel underneath the lid. Seems to work for me. I agree that cooking proper wholemeal/brown rice from scratch (non of your pre-cooked stuff) does take 45 minutes. But if you time it…
  • Asra: I appreciate the fact you took on board what some of us said as well meaning. It sounds like you are well on the way to achieving your goal. You sound very motivated too. I am a 'slow loser' which makes it difficult to stay motivated. For me it is a health thing more than anything. Sounds like you are 'getting there'…
  • I agree with Cindy 100%. I note you do not show your face either. Is that to hide facial expression that can be read by others? Or/and as Cindy says, a lack of self-worth? Even if you are on MFP to be more healthy/toned or whatever; if you accept yourself for who you are, this will shine through to others, regardless of…
  • I loved my Polar H7 chest band and sensor, I went on to the Polar M400. By wearing a sensor when doing activity, it gives a far more accurate result for what you burn off. My heart rate was at the higher end of normal (due to medication, inactivity due to health conditions etc). By using these combinations I have brought…
  • I use Pink Sun protein powder which is made from grass-fed cows whey isolate. I have tried many brands and this is the only one that doesn't upset my bowels in any way. I can tolerate PHD diet whey as long as it is for example just half a bar every other day or a serving of the powder. But since discovering Pink Sun I no…
  • Because of my disabilities I do adapted exercise at home. I have an app called Dance Fit Studio, and have also just bought a Bollywood one, with Wii Zumba and Belly Dancing ones on the way. I enjoy the Wii Fit Plus as there is something at every level depending on how I am on any given day. I may be barking up the wrong…
