i was just online trying to find a low carb bread recipe which includes using yeast and i came across one that uses carbQuik. i am not sure if i am willing to spend the money, but if i do, i will let you know how it turns-out. :)

i once heard: don't let one meal ruin your whole day don't let one day ruin your whole week don't let one week ruin your whole month i think your situation applies

my dr told me to start at a low dose and slowly move up. i remember at first, i was taking about 100mg 2x/day, then moved up to 3x/day before increasing mg. if i remember correctly i ended up at about 1500mg/day back when i was on it before. the dr said the slower you increase, the less likely to experience stomach issues.…

i was the same way. i had a day in mind to start, and i wasn't ready until then. it wasn't an excuse, it was just in my head, that was my start date. my dog had to have surgery, and the week was very stressful. I knew there was no way I could take on something new until after I knew she was going to be ok. So I chose a…

i'm not sure what you mean by met tolerance? i take metformin for insulin resist. and i take mounds of B's because i have a MTHFR gene polymorphism and can't properly process B's. as far as i know, neither the met nor B's interferes with each other. i was on met years ago for infertility, and neither then nor now have i…

i have dr. hyman's program recorded on my DVR and i have watched about half. i also have a few books that mention his ideas. i like what he has to say. What have you found to be healthy fats? avocado, olive oil (first cold-pressed virgin), eggs, bacon, coconut oil (again, virgin and also organic) Anyone use MCT oil? mct is…

i have BPD, OCD & aniexty disorder, so i get attacks, too. i am on meds right now (hydroxyzine) and that really helps. i will admit, even though i think outside stress is a major contributor, i have noticed a decrease in my mood swings in the past 2 weeks since i started LCHF. my goal is <25g/carbs/day

i think i might go buy ingredients and try that. i have had very little success so far in making things that are "low-carb" - two things i've made that cost me ALOT $$$ in ingredients ended up in the trash because they were so awful!

i went to the rodeo the other night with my family and my brother offered me some of his iced tea. as soon as it was hitting my lips, he announced, "it's 90% unsweet + 10% sweet." it was all i could do to drink it!!! even that little 10% was haunting me. but i ended up drinking it and enjoying it and not sweating it. i…

if you are having panic attacks, that (to me) is an entirely different issue. maybe you have some unresolved stressors in your life that might lead to a panic attack. i eat fruit/berries every morning. i can't live w/o fruit!!! so far, that hasn't been the cause of me going over my carb count.

i have made almost all those combinations. my SIL & i used to make them all the time when we were "broke" and wanted something sweet. we always had those items on hand. i'm with the OP - makes me think of poison when i see it now!

i dropped 14 lbs rather quickly, but today, got on the scale and had gained +1 lb. so, it's different for everyone. as long as the scale overall is moving downward, i think we're good. too stressful to me to worry about how slowly, or compare to someone else, or even worry about this one little pound.

wow i have never experienced any of that. maybe i'm missing-out. :p
-
i haven't had a drink since i started this, and i'm really nervous about it. alcohol always makes me gain. :/

........and i didnt know my new candy had splenda until i got home. i guess i am not a good label reader. LOL
-
my cousin has MS and was told it would be made worse with artificial sweeteners. she was tols that a little table sugar (not sure of exact amount) is far better for her overall health than splenda, equal or sweet.n.low. i agree with you.

the results look similar if not the same to me.

i will have to check the bag to see the type. actually, the serving size was 3 pieces and i only had 1 piece.

These foods -- a group that includes frozen pizzas, breakfast cereals and soda -- make up 58% of all calories Americans consume in a typical day. ^^ i will be honest and say that when i was at my heaviest and eating my worst and not taking care of myself, the above diet was probably about 95% of my typical day.

i count net. i subtract fiber from total carbs. i aim for <25g/day :)

my daughter is 7 and we homeschool so i have about 99% control over her diet, leaving 1% for when she is with grandma. ha we had a big party on sunday, i took EVERYTHING out of the pantry and frig and told everyone "eat what you want because it is all going away." the next day we gave away or threw out all non healthy…

sorry forgot to add...i have lost 14lbs so far

i do <25 g net carb per day 7% carbs 73% fat 20% protein that is my goal, anyway :)

ounces are tricky. a liquid/fluid ounce is one thing, and the weight of an ounce is another. i find grams to be much more accurate, even with liquid measure. even babies are measured in grams on scales when they are born - more accurate. one fluid ounce does not necessarily WEIGH one ounce. i hate that!!! :D
-
i always use grams with my scale. i find it to be much more accurate. with my scale, i can get down to (example) 1.5 oz. but with grams, i can get to .18 grams (i know these are not equivalent, just an example) cups vary. i found one of my measuring cups that was actually very close to 1 1/4 cups. and especially tsp and…

i can't take a multi-vitamin b/c i have a MTHFR gene polymorphism and can't properly absorb B vitamins. so i take about 13 different vitamins in their natural or methyl state. for a cold, try eating 1000 mg worth of chewable vitamin C + zinc lozenges, per day. :)

replace fishing with "to Las Vegas"

i'm glad things went well. sounds like a very well-rounded meal, and you did have some options.

i went cold turkey and it was the best for me. for my daughter, we are "weaning" her onto this diet because she is a carb-a-holic. she still eats "real" bread (Sunbeam ONLY) so that will be the last to go. we did manage to get rid of all the bad cereals and pop-tarts, etc. perhaps i'm not tempted b/c none of that is in my…
