Fitbit and maybe others require you to setup the appropriate stride length to be more accurate. can we ever really know exactly how accurate. some say yes, takes some number crunching over time AND some very accurate logging to understand what your body is doing and if its accurate. IMO.

I was the same a few days ago, the scale had me up like 2.5 pounds or so....for like three days. Today i'm at my lowest. don't really know what was up, but hang in there. My guess is its temporary and you'll adjust back down. :)

you have to log your food properly and find a way to fit it in your calorie level. its not evil to like sweets, but they will make you fat if they cause you to eat over your allotment of calories for the day. don't flip out on the "stereotypical" bad i have to give up on foods. just make them fit by sacrificing somewhere…

Take a known weight, like a barbell or weight lifting plate and weigh it. anything that you know the weight of will work.

I would add also seek out C25K in your APP store. nice program with structure to get you going from a cardio perspective.

brother, get a good pair of running shoes. and go to a running store to be fitted with proper shoes. there are about 5 differ elements to your gait that they can evaluate and fit you for. and for me it was the same $120 bucks as a regular decent non fitted shoe. its worth seeking this out.
