Hahahahahahahahaha.... right.... I'm just a special needs teacher who runs to stay away from the bottle, nothing more than that.

That's the main thing that I got out of this. You sucked it up and ran the rest of the way homw. So what if you didn't get the distance you were aiming for? You got in time on feet and found out that you can keep going after a setback. That's what really matters. Oh, and don't listen to @PastorVincent he doesn't know what…

I've done the wet weather thing enough in the BWCA and other places, at similar temps to know that as long as I keep moving I'll be good to go. Wet/cold don't bother me nearly as much as hot/dry, so it will be good, overthinking the layering causes me more trouble than just layering decently and going with it. I've found,…

I always run early morning, so My running only interrupts family time at the very peak of a cycle, and then only for an hour or 2 per week at most. I'm just glad that my taper was short, like 10 days in this case. My body has reacted VERY well to training, so Taper hasn't been as much of a need. The weather looks fine to…

Here's mine. We're planning to make it the center of a picture wall there. My wife and I both put our medals on it.

Good morning everyone. Rest day today.... I hate tapering, so I'm glad my taper is over in just under 4 days.

The list was copied and pasted directly from a spreadsheet.... It's the only organized ant thought out part of my planning for the run. The rest is straight up Forrest Gump, I just felt like running.

@juliet3455 Nice RR. Sounds like it was definitely "not ideal" conditions for the race. Great job getting it done!

9 miles a week plus swimming is plenty serious. Welcome to the group. The folks on here are amazing and have really given me a lot of good info.

For those interested and who can remember the web address, I put up a blog post on my gear stuff.... not going to link, since MFP didn't like it last time, and I got a warning.

There "should" be live updates each lap, according to the RD. But since they have to beam down their own 4G to the valley for it, it might not be perfect.

I have enough Tailwind for the whole thing. Dump, fill with water and go. Quesadillas are ok too, so I'll be having those at the aid stations, plus potato chips.... the csndy and stuff, or anything sweet just did not look good at all. Tailwind worked great in October so im sticking with it. I'll be seeing what looks good…
-
@7lenny7 i wish i could just grab and go. I found out in october that after about 45 miles, most thingslook like crap to me. Nutrition mainly means packing things I'll still want to eat in the latet miles.
-
@7lenny7 I'll take slop over post holing. Oh yeah, bring me bacon.

When the nerves hit, sometimes I just need to write some things out: “If you are going to face a challenge, it has to be a real challenge. You can’t accomplish anything without the possibility of failure.” -Lazarus Long I’ve been feeling the nerves of my coming 100 mile lately. I’m not attempting something as epic as…
