  • I started by pre-cooking and freezing or refrigerating meals. Cut fruits and veggies in Tupperware. Etc etc it makes it easy when you have food already prepared for dinner. Can you ask Wifey to help healthy food choices? Keep working at it and you will see a change :)
  • It's not a strong craving? Just a thought? It will pass. Keep focusing on your goals and where you want to be in 3 months.
  • What a great feeling! Go girl
  • I am not a teacher but I know what it's like when someone brings in bagels or cake to the office. Make it a habit not to join in. Make it a rule only to eat what you brought in--don't eat in your classroom alone. The other teachers will stop offering you food is they know you're just going to say no. If they don't, they…
  • What does OP mean???????
  • Thanks for suggesting Fitness Blender. I had no idea!
  • Do your thing at the gym, keep active. That's what counts.
  • You take care of you and your children. That's your job. It's not your job to fit your life around your parents' feelings and ideas of what should be. You take care of you. If they are going to put you down and make you feel bad for what makes you happy and healthy, then they aren't going to see you or the kids as much.…
  • Yes, you will need to reduce food calories if you want to drink. OR, you can order club soda and lime or club soda with a splash of cranberry juice. If anyone asks why you're not drinking, tell them you have to study later or drive or even that you're eating clean. Your roommates/friends don't have to live with your goals…
  • I spent my 20's obsessing/worrying about my weight. What a waste of time. I could have been working on real goals. NOW I wish I was that weight! I thought I was so fat-- I wasn't! I'm now 36 and have gained loads of weight since moving to a new city. NOW I really have weight to lose.... So my point is that stressing this…
  • Your plan sounds good. Give it some time-- you just go there. You will find it gets easier. You will get used to the food, the culture, the language, and find what foods to enjoy and what to avoid. It's AWESOME you have so much biking and activity to do! Stay healthy but don't spend too much energy on your appearance.…
  • I have 3 meals = 300-400 calories each. There is room for a 100 calorie snack in there. Lunch is my biggest meal, so I adjust dinner for what calories I have left.
  • Don't be hard on yourself. No one in the world can eat whatever they want and stay thin. It takes discipline and work. Start drinking water and cut out the pizza etc. stay within a certain calorie range for your goal weight. You will get there, you don't have much to lose. I had my wake up call and now I'm eating better…
  • Take care of you... workout, sleep, treats. Appreciate your hard work. There are people wishing they could lift as much as you right now. Stop looking at social media and fitness magazines. Those people are all airbrushed or there's a filter on the photo to enhance the lighting --- that isn't reality.
  • Don't be afraid to ask the people that work at the gym questions. Ask for a second tour of the gym if you like. Try getting on 1 or 2 different cardio machines for at least 10 minutes. Watch what other people are doing. Oh and bring some good music or podcast to listen while you workout

  • You can try doing intervals of walking and running. (Ex Run 3 mins Walk 2 mins Repeat until you finish) The walking helps you catch your breath and it'll be easier on your knees. You will get stronger and find its easier to run longer as you keep going. Good on you for starting!
  • Brown rice, blue berries, walnuts. The brown rice is easy to cook the night before--I use Success minute rice.
  • Thank you all so much for the support! I needed to hear this!!! Avocado salad and cheesecake it is... and thanks for the well wishes! Happy weekend to you!
  • It seems the only way to add friends is to go to the website on your computer/ laptop -- not mobile site/app on your phone. Click on community, Find Members, type in their username. Anyhoo-- The only thing that is working for me is to prepare food in tupperware in advance. That way I dont have to think about how much I can…
  • Try out the 100 day Sober Challenge here: tiredofthinkingaboutdrinking.com It's free. The site is run by a gal named Belle. She does free personal emails, articles, blog, mailings, one minute sober support messages, plus some paid stuff. She has a lot of great ideas for being sober and the getting through the witching…
  • Another trick when you feel stressed is to inhale deeply in and out, as if you are smoking an imaginary cigarette. It will help calm you down. I don't know how vapes work.... But I found just the act of inhaling deeply aleved some immediate stress.
  • Me too :(. I gained a ton of weight over the last year. The scale kept going up and up and up. I don't even know where the last 30came from! I just have to accept that I'm at this weight now. All I can do is commit to diet and exercise. It's a waste of time for me to cry over my weight. I will be at my goal weight if I…
  • At home or at a gym? Can you walk around the neighborhood? Walk to the end of the block and back tomorrow. Each day, add some distance. Work your way up to 10 mins then 15 mins then 20 and 30 mins. That's a good start. Over time you will get faster. You just have to put on walking shoes and go.
  • I quit 3 years ago (after 15yrs) Quitting is the best thing I've ever done!!! Quitting got easier when I realized the cravings never lasted more than a minute or two. I would get through those couple of minutes and the cravings were gone. They would come up again, but only lasted a couple minutes. Over time I had less and…

  • Don't beat yourself up about your weight. It's one thing in life we have control over. You can definitely lose it! Not today, not tomorrow, but in time. Do some work to eat better and exercise, let your early success be your motivation to keep going. If going to the gym makes you anxious, find workouts you can do at home.…
