I wouldn't recommend lowering your calories. I'm no nutritionist or personal trainer, but if you're adding a new exercise routine to your life, then you should probably eat more or at least stay the course to fuel the new exercise routine you're doing. I ended up upping my calorie goal because I started feeling chronically…

I'm gonna give the poster the benefit of the doubt and assume that's spinach, because I've never heard of a lettuce pizza. FYI, spinach and pepperoni is the boss of pizzas.

I did a breakfall in Aikido today, and I didn't die. I don't even have a bruise. I didn't even get the wind knocked out of me. I rolled right out of it and continued my attack. For those of you unfamiliar with Aikido, this is a picture of the beginning of one:

OP: I just took a quick peek at your diary. I noticed that you eat a majority of your calories for the day in one sitting. If you're struggling with hunger pains, sometimes planning out your meals so that they're spread out over the course of the day can really make the difference. That way your body isn't crying for fuel…

I ran a Spartan Sprint yesterday. It was my first one, and I did better than the guy that talked me into doing it. I only failed two obstacles. The spear throw, and some goofy hand over hand monkey-bar-like thing at the end when my body was rubberized misery.

Pokemon Go, if you like mobile games.

I did a ten minute mile this morning. Maybe that's not so good for most people, but I haven't worked up to running 2 miles straight yet...so ten minutes for me is my best!

One of the guys at my dojo was explaining a technique and said "Well, you're small so you have to be careful about getting stuck against some one heavy or big, that's why using balance is important." Nobody has ever referred to me as small before.

Thank you for all the responses! It's good advice, and hopefully it's as simple as what ya'll are describing. I appreciate your time!

Alright, thank you. Also, changing the activity level put me right back to 1570. So, going back to my original question: Should I change it to something lower or just stick with that budget?

My activity level is set to Active (mailman, waitress.) I work at an airport and my steps on my garmin always reaches at least 5 miles walking in an 8 hour shift, but hey...worth a shot to lower it. As for the Garmin, I'm not even sure what negative adjustments are?

You know what helped me? Realizing that the people who do see me have no idea how long I have been running. I ran through a pack of high school kids this morning on my run, and they don't know if I have been running for .25 miles or 5. FYI, I'm a really slow runner. Also, keep in mind. If some one makes fun of you for…

I would suggest getting a food scale. For a long time I was estimating that 1 oz of cheese was what I put in my omelette. I got a scale, and guess what? I was logging 1 oz and only eating .1 oz. That's a lot of tasty cheese I cheated myself out of. I also thought I had 1 oz of cashews and it was 3 oz. That's a couple…

Crystalized ginger for the nausea.

You could always pick up some spray that boasts sea-salt in it for lazy days. You can just spray it in your damp hair and it will give it volume and texture.

I just was playing around with the TDEE calculator. I threw in 140 lbs and 5'5 with moderate exercise (3-5 times a week, because that's what I do) and it said maintenance was 2,367. I don't think exercising 3-5 times a week is "exceptionally active." Light exercise is 2,099. Sedentary was 1832. So...I can see where the…

Good Afternoon, or morning if you're where I am. Don't Panic! You probably didn't gain enough muscle to weigh that much that quickly, but you most likely couldn't have eaten so much that it's all fat. If you just started exercising, it's probably nothing more than water retention. There are days when I seemingly gain 10lbs…

^I have lost 25lbs and 5 pant sizes since November. I went out to eat with friends who were heavier than me and they were eating daintily while I stuffed an entire order of nachos from Chili's in my face. They were staring at me, because they know how much work I've been putting into losing weight. Its like they thought I…

Thank you for all the advice. These were exactly the sorts of things I wouldn't have thought about.

I bought a Garmin Forerunner 235. It's a pretty awesome tool and the on the wrist heart monitor is as accurate as the treadmill, bike, and elliptical heart rate monitors +/- 1-5 beats per second. I bought it almost specifically for the HRM on the wrist, because I hate the idea of wearing a strap. I needed the GPS feature,…

On the days where I do nothing, I eat about 1500 calories. On the days where I do something, I eat about 1600. On the days I do a whole lot of stuff, I eat closer to 1900 or 2000 even, if I really did a lot. I have been losing pretty consistently. I actually upped my calories after I noticed that I tend to still lose or…

MamaKate, you don't sound ridiculous and don't apologize. That's one hell of a legit question! I feel some amount of soreness and strain on my muscles anytime I start to do something new. I have the attention span of a squirrel that drank a red-bull, so I am always asking the PT at the gym to show me new things. Even when…

Either you have an iron-will, an unrealistic expectation of what you should be eating for the rest of your life, or are treating this as a temporary fix. 1200 calories is misery incarnate in the long run, and you can still lose weight without eating nothing but broth and cottage cheese. I eat 1600 and have been steadily…

If you're hurting so bad you can't lower yourself to the toilet, you might want to just take a day off. Rest days are important, and you're hardly slacking if you need more than one. I started lifting heavy after reading a thread about it on here and I was so sore I needed three before I could lift again.
-
GO YOU! I'm right there with you. I started about 100 days ago and am down 25lbs. I hope you post again in three months about how you lost 46!

Check out any of the threads in motivation and support about ladies heavy lifting. It got me in the weight section of the gym the next day because the results are phenomenal. There's also a lot of good chatter about what programs they employed to get there.

This is why I never brought a tablet to the gym. I think of all the job opportunities I'm missing by being too slow and too weak to pass the entrance exam for my local PD, and that's my motivation.

I spoke too soon! I stole this from tiffanylacourse. It helped me a lot.

I concur! Give exercise and dieting at a reasonable calorie budget a try, see a personal trainer or deitician to figure out good portions. Once you try the basics, and still nothing changes, then see a doctor or specialist about help. And I'm not saying try it for a couple weeks. I'm saying try it for for a few months. I…
