A few months back I sprained an ankle, and then made it worse by training on it. I ended up using a rowing machine at the gym. Some one else also suggested an elliptical bike with just using the handles instead of the pedals.

There should be a setting in the recipe tab that asks for how many servings the recipe makes

Therapy. I’m not trying to be flippant here, dead serious actually. If you are struggling to manage your stress and are eating away your anxieties, then a few months of therapy or counseling can probably help a lot more than “chew gum” suggestions. We’re all kinda broken plates and I have yet to meet someone that couldn’t…

Eat one slice of pizza instead of two and have a salad with it. Everyone loves food (except anorexics I suppose, but they have a problem that can never be addressed on a fitness forum) and people who love food do lose weight. However, You aren’t going to lose a whole bunch of weight in two months very fast and keep it off.…

So, I actually have a comment about the software Garmin uses that may change your mind. It updated recently and I cleaned the house in the morning, by the end of the day it said I had 5,358 steps and burned 2,573 calories from those steps. I was using a vacuum, not a sledgehammer. This is not an irregular occurrence. Its…

I went to my dojo's afternoon class, and *gasp* I was sempai! It was an unusually small class filled with beginners, but somehow it still felt good. It was the first time I had hit the mat in six weeks because of an injury. It felt good to be back. I was welcomed back by a similarly ranked fellow throwing me several feet.…

Hello All! I'm hailing from Vermont. I practice Aikido and Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido, which is a mouthful in itself. I'm a newbie of three or so years in Aikido, and a lost sheep of just a few months in Iaido. I just found this group, which makes me happy because I was always guessing who practices and who doesn't. I'm…

I too have a sit down job, and sitting still drives me nuts all day! I’d love to be in a group of friends like this.

Beware! A lot of pre-workouts are loaded with caffeine other additives that may trigger a migraine if you’re sensitive to the ingredients like I am. Have this conversation with your neurologist before you take them. I know I can’t. I suggest a cup of coffee and enough food to sustain your activity level instead.

$378.50 per month? Did I read that right?

Remember that weight loss isn't linear and you're going to continue to encounter times like this through the rest of your life. So long as you ignore the voices that say you should lose X in Y amount of time and continue on with your routines and good eating habits your weight will go away. Your body doesn't care about…

What do you mean by Healthy? Are you looking for something lower fat? Something lower calorie in general? Non-Dairy fat? Butter by itself isn't evil and "unhealthy" unless you're eating a stick of it in a sitting. You could just use a little less than you would normally. Otherwise: Cottage Cheese: Low-cal, high protein.…

I didn't know what you were talking about, but a quick google and after a couple ads, this is the first article: https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/weight-loss/expert-answers/hcg-diet/faq-20058164 I stopped reading after seeing "So why has there been so much talk about the HCG diet? Perhaps it's because the diet…

Woa. All you jerks suggesting she make herself invisible are doing the exact opposite of helping. How about teach your boys to not yell at women for their body instead? Yeah? You guys are misogynistic, victim-blaming jerks. It doesn't matter if she does or doesn't like attention, being shouted at when she doesn't want to…

OP: I get the Botox injections. It is very expensive. It is also very effective. Sucks, right? It’s worth it to me, although I can no longer scowl. Do you take imitrex? I have a nasal spray version that works very well even in the middle of martial arts classes. As for the exercise, I used to get one triggered from…

Ahem, I prefer the term Shebro. Maybe Broshe? This entire reply was for the purpose of a bump

The temperature difference must interrupt the laws of thermodynamics and your stomach acid?

I had a friend tell me that if she ate a potato cold it wouldn't count because your body can't digest cold potatoes.

There are some good threads in the sticky section titled "Most Helpful" posts that I suggest you give a glance. Particularly the one about TDEE and BMR. For most people, 1200 is way too low. For most people, they will lose muscle mass along with fat on so low a number, which is why some are suggesting that. If your short…

Whole 30 for 30? If that’s what I think it is, you may be a masochist.

I use a lot of protein powder. There's no way I can stay in my goals and hit my goal level of protein without a couple scoops of the magical stuff. I'd recommend going to a vitamin store where they usually have single serve packets for you to try different types. Find one you like, get a blender, and experiment with…

I love macaroni and cheese. I went to either Margaritaville or Hard Rock Cafe (Can't remember which, they're the same restaurant for the most part) and ordered a SIDE of Mac and Cheese. When I logged it, just the side was well over half my daily intake. We're talking over 1000 calories for a SIDE.

Take a relatively controlled diet break during the Holidays? I mean, one week of over-eating isn't going to undo everything you've done prior in the year or stop you from taking care of yourself after the new year.

Back on Topic: My expensive balancing stool (Qor360) doesn't have enough cushion, and I'm using it until my office finally grants me a reasonable accommodation for a Varidesk.

Why thank you!

I'm pretty sure I speak for Americans here, but we'll be just fine without you being able to post politics on a forum about health and fitness. There are more appropriate sites for that. Also, Those words, First Amendment, I do not think it means what you think it means.

Are you lifting any weights? If you aren't, you could add some in. I have noticed a huge change after about a year of lifting in the way my clothes fit.

I disagree. Upping the calories may seem counter-intuitive, but if OP is eating that little she's essentially starving herself and setting herself up for a lifestyle that is what most armchair psychologists would call anorexic. Its hardly sustainable and certainly doesn't lend to long-term health. I severely doubt that…

I think you're right. If you have had nothing for 23 hours, who's going to pick the nutrient dense option when there's easier, caloric dense options readily available? If you can do this, OP, and it works, sure? I don't see the logic in there.
