I like running socks that have an L and R on the toes. Makes life soooooo much easier for me! :D

Lace your shoes to skip a couple of holes where the laces would normally cross over the arch. I've seen this simple thing make huge changes for numerous people.

That damn X keeps moving on me! LOL

Simple... incorporate several short hill repeats into your weekly mileage. Not too steep though, as REALLY steep hills don't provide much benefit. When I run trails around the mountains, if I know there's a short climb coming up (100-200 yards), I'll race up that section, and then slow back down to my easy pace.

Been running with a waist belt bottle holder for 15 years now for runs under 10 miles. In Arizona, from spring to fall, you don't want to be playing around without water. I run trails, so I'm entirely on my own. Everything I need will fit into the little pockets. Once I start running 12+ miles during our summer, I'll…

So simple, yet so effective! ;)

Be careful of what you say. You can get "warned" or "banned" by helping educate people around here. "Feewings" get hurt mighty easy when people are taught some truth!

Lucifer's Hammer was a good one.

Whoever created them is also surely far wealthier! I've done 2 in Arizona. They are fun, and tough, and addictive! I've never been able to sleep during the entire race, which can make things even more interesting when you're hitting your 36 hour mark without sleep (including time before and after the race). I'm hoping to…

You can't outrun a bad diet.

There are lots of strategies. I would keep increasing my weekly long run by 10% each week (backing off on the 4th week), and then start adding some hillwork. The hills will build leg strength (hamstrings, glutes, and calves) which will provide power in your runs. Or you could always add a Tempo run in your week, or maybe…

The proper use of hyphens in a sentence!

To add to what Rybo said, I'd focus first on slowly stretching out my Long runs, adding hill work, and maybe a Tempo run into your program, and then let the cards fall where they may. I have no idea how long you've recently been running, so it's not easy to make a lot of reccomendations. The only control you have over your…

Yep. Great book! Made my SO read it. I guess they're making it into a movie.

Wasn't there a major lawsuit against Shape-Ups?

Question... So I saw the movie Ender's Game but haven't read the book. Is all hope lost to really enjoy the book at this point?

The treadmill is actually doing a portion of the work for you as it pushes your leg rearward. Plus, if you aren't running at an incline of 1.0-1.5 on the tmill, you are essentially running slightly downhill; making it easier. Running outside pits you against the elements (wind mostly), terrain changes, unnoticeable…

Thank you, my queen. I'll send the money right away!

Awesome job, brutha!

The Gray Man series (Mark Greaney) reminded me a lot of Bourne. An unstoppable former "asset" going after his handlers.

I've got Ex-Heroes in my Wish List.

Genicide of One Rewinder Two more great sci-fi(ish) reads.

One Second After is a great book! Imagine life immediately after an EMP. The Survivalist Series (Arthur T Bradley). Life after the collapse. Going Home (and subsequent Series, by A. American) Same concept as above.
