I dress for the warmest part of the run. Meaning, I may be chilly in the beginning of the run, but my main layer is more suited for when it warms up. If it's significantly colder at the start of the run, I'll wear arm sleeves or a wind breaker, both of which I can peel off and stash mid-run.

I try to run trails exclusively! It builds strong legs as well as core and joints. No special tips except to get some shoes suited for the terrain, and just start hitting the trails regularly. Look in your area for a trail race and sign up for one. You won't want to run on asphalt ever again!

I'd love running in the early morning... if I could just schedule it for later in the day. :p The take-away from that... getting out of the house is the hardest part! That bed is like a magnet to me!!!!

Your volume is good. Like the guy above me suggested, you may want to incorporate tempo runs, speed days, hill runs, and maybe some trail runs. Don't forget to hit the weights to build strength in your upper body. You'll need it! I think you'll do great!

Those kind of races have A LOT of walking strategically planned throughout the course. The elite racers will tell you that there's a ratio of walk:run that you'll want to focus on so you can make it to the finish. Good luck!
