4 July a personal furthest 13.4 miles including some big hills. Progress! I'm inspired by some of the monster mileages of some of you more experienced cyclists on here!

I'm in! Missed out on June as we went travelling, so I only got 2 outdoor and 2 indoor rides in in the last days of the month. I've never set a mileage target before , so I'll do it this time..Errrr...let's try for 180miles. I may treat my bike to a saddlebag so I can start using it to go out for groceries. Can anyone…

Hi there, feel free to add me! I am in the same height and weight range as yourself and in this for the long haul - it has been more fun than I expected so far. WITH the support of some very nice and inspiring online friends here in MFP.

Well I guess that's it for May, and I did this: far more than I've ever done before and hopefully next month will be bike-filled too, at the end at least as I'm working away from home, fromThurs. Maybe hire a bike where I'm going... 3/5 5.6 miles indoor 4/5 5.7 miles outdoor Pitfield Lane 5/5 12.88 outdoor Tadley rec…

Just for today...ok some real goals! 1 Bike ride 2 Sweep up in workshop ( it's ankle deep in woodchips) 3 1 hour's paperfiling 4 Online form to fill in 5 Stay on target with calories! Although it's Friday night! 6 Don't let the stubborn plateau I have hit this fortnight sway my good streak 7 More carpentry Sounds like a…

@tcaley4 - very sorry to hear of your loss.

@wayneh73 great infographic! My local bike shop is an Aladdin's cave of totally obscure and incomprehensible gear, most of it expensive and very colourful.

You are a total inspration. Thanks for sharing your success

Thankyouthankyouthankyou! Printing and sticking!

Arrg! I want an "I Biked" sticker! I did so bike also today! Not such encouragement here in the countryside, I just got stared at by a small pony and ignored by some joggers and whizzed past by some athletic cyclists in full tracing gear. But I DID make it all the way up our most brutal hill nearby, where they train for…

Train and subway seats seem bigger. My guitar straps all needed tightening. A booth in a restaurant is no longer an anxious worry of will I fit between the seat and the table. Strangers talk to me more. Here's a weird one: photos. When I see pictures of myself at the moment, sometimes I really perceive the loss, sometimes…

Well done! I love how clearly it has made your life happier!

Hi Kat, feel free to add me, I am trying fo the same kind of loss you achieved and doing ok. I am about te sameage as you too! I like bike and stationary bike while watching Youtube spin classes and documentaries, and when outside biking or walking you could try using Charity Miles app, it donates money (at no cost to you)…

@UmmSqueaky thanks for that good advice. And I understand morbid thoughts. Braved the weird weather and headed out on the hills today - on my "photographing surrounding churches challenge." . There must be some geological thing going on round here, the hills are a little less steep than they were last month. - St Mary…

Sorry to hear that - I hope you gave him an earful! Also hope that lively purple bike is not too sore!

Some interesting info and links here, http://www.obesityaction.org/educational-resources/resource-articles-2/obesity-related-diseases/lipedeam-and-obesity I have lymphedema not lipedema and it has improved greatly through exercise and weight loss, although it is not perfect in the lower legs. The article shows that the…

3/5 5.6 miles indoor 4/5 5.7 miles outdoor 5/5 12.88 outdoor May "photograph surrounding churches by bike" challenge An odd church this, Mortimer West End Chapel, it's a 19th cent chapel attached to an 18th cent chapel in the woods, still being used, with working graveyard. Being on holiday may mean loads of extra walking for sightseeing. In Vienna I was regularly doing ten miles a day which more than made up for restaurant meals. Maybe you will be quite active there in fact. Spend your snack money on something else ,I suggest the local shops and markets will offer fun cheap stuff with which…

May "Photograph all the surrounding churches by bike challenge" 3/5 - 5.6 miles indoor ( no churches indoors) 4/5 - 5.7 miles outdoor Today's route was obstructed by a forest fire - rare and very early for that to happen here - peat under the trees caught fire and I was rerouted by the fire brigade. Acrid smoke through the…

Living in the UK I had a virtual road trip with my stationary bike last night down Beach Road in Melbourne Australia! One day maybe I'll do this for real https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSFYRiqodvU

I'm up for it again, cheerful beginner cyclist - as soon as I can breathe again , trying to kick off a terrible cold! Goal for this month: visit all the old churches within a 6 mile radius and photograph them all. There's quite a few.

Adding in my pathetically small total - but my first ever month of cycling! It included a 10 day trip to Europe without a bike and ended in an illness, but hey. I had a great time and I'm looking forward to May. Thanks to everyone else in the challenge, it was fun reading all your adventures. 4/3 - 6.3 miles indoor 4/4 - 3…

61.5 miles so far this month - not much compared to some of the folks in the challenge but it's my first ever month of cycling! Very excited to be doing it ! Off to my den now for a bit more on the stationary bike...snow and wind here this week , but maybe tomorrow I'll brave it, especially as I just bought a high…
