  • Once your body is fat adapted these strips are unreliable as your body is no longer dumping ketones into your urine
  • Thanks, I'm not feeling it yet really. I have 70kg in total to move so I hope to feel it a little soon. I'm trying to do 20 total carbs a day, if I go over I make sure my net in still under 20.
  • Wow I had never actually considered this. I get told off for having minimal veg by my family and a close friend, I can only imagine how much more I would hear if they saw me with no veg. Im thinking about it now and it sounds meaty!
  • I think the problem a lot of people cannot hear their bodies. Mindless eating is far to easy to go back to and when you remove the carbs and the sugar coma that you get from over eating them a mindless eater (like myself) needs to be mindful of calories.
  • When I consume high carb foods I pay for it. My back is sore, I'm bloated and I feel lethargic. For me it is not worth it. This is such a personal thing.
  • I have been ketoing on and off for 2.5 years Serious focus on weight loss for 2 months. I adhere to a non medical keto approach to weight loss with keto (less fat, I have enough fat on my body without eatingit in excess). The only goal I have is my protein, carbs I count as total not net and fat is to make up calories. I…
  • Try adding a serve of HWC, a small dash of imitation vanilla essence and a touch of stevia to sweeten.
  • I plan to try OMAD at some point. But it kinda scares me. Do people do it at work? I work in an office and wow toasted cheese sandwiches smell like I am ready to break LCHF forever when im fasting till 1pm.
  • With the friends, I can go either way. People who have added me after a support and motivation post i try to actively support. Others who ive addedate fairly inactive. I figure we put in to it what we want to get out of it.
  • This is why LC works for me. I no longer get a 3pm slump or feel like I need to nap after a meal. Try tracking a normal day and then lower your carbs each day till you get to about 80 a day. See how you go with that. If you wanna talk to some LC people join the low carb daily forum group.
  • I can totally relate! 32 and sticking to it, not struggling, not hating it and it's working!
  • Weight loss is not liniar, it never will be. How long have you been in "plateau" ? A true stall/ plateau is 6 to 12 weeks. Just keep at it. Keep at a calorie deficit, it will happen!
  • 300g to 500g per week is normal pace
  • Yay to all of you who can do a non calorie counting keto. I cannot. I did this for 2 years and put on almost 20kg (44pounds) now counting ive moved 12 (27) of them in 2 months which is huge for me. I think pushing of no counting is not productive as it will not always work for everyone. People will figure out if no…
  • Cheats happen. The hard part is getting up afterwards, pulling up your big girl pants saying that happened and trying to learn from your mistakes. If you can identify the trigger it is much less likely to happen over and over. Ask your mum not to buy that cake or if she does not to tell you. If she is getting your favorite…
  • I count calories and it is rare for me to hit my carb count. I tried lazy keto (counting carbs only ) and i put on weight
  • I prefer the body image movement. It is about loving your self and being beautiful at any size. Fat/skinny shaming is stupid. Yes my body looks unhealthy, no I do not have any obesity related medical conditions. While walking (in workout wear) having things yelled at me "lose some weight fatty" "the beach is that way" plus…
  • Once you're fat adapted ketone urine strips wont be as reliable. These strips are used by diabetics to monitor for ketoacidosis. They work really well when you first start but not so good after.
  • I do low carb, med /high protein and med fat.
  • Little goals. I have over 150 to move. 10 more to my first goal.
  • Im in Australia so im gonna do mine in kgs too 5'8" SW - 136.6kg (301.2) CW - 124.7kg (274.9) GW - 66.5kg (146.5) This week was down 1.6kg (3.5)
  • Wait for the whoosh! Weight loss will never be linear. This article says it better than I could. http://ketopia.com/what-it-feels-like-when-i-lose-weight/
  • Hi everyone! I have been ketoing on and off for 2.5 years Serious focus on weight loss for 2 months. I adhere to a non medical keto approach to weight loss with keto (less fat, I have enough fat on my body without eatingit in excess). • If you're doing net carbs and not total then you sub fibre. So yesterday I had 22 total carbs 18 from fibre So I had 3 net carbs. Personally I count total and allow up to 26 which usually means my net carb is fairly low, most days around 5 to 10.
  • Fauxtatoe salad is actually my favorite!
  • People on low carb get this even after the start. Most times it is electrolyte imbalances, sodium is a big culprit. Eating low carb (150 carbs or less) is like being on diuretics, you need to up your electrolytes. Mine were fine for 2 months after the first week. Now the headaches have come back
  • Basically yeah Google search the recipe you wanna make with low carb in the search. How many carbs are you gonna be doing a day?
  • This trigger is the worst and as ive mentioned above it is also one of mine. My brain says "hey, you're doing great, you need to reward yourself" or "i can't keep doig this if they keep talking about this" I have asked close friends and family not to comment and still I walked into a party last week and had 3 people who…
  • Thank you for your opinion on the subject again. Personally I do not eat back my exercise calories and I do not count net carbs but total carbs. Some people choose not to count fibre in their carbs as it is a form of carbohydrate that is not processed and used for energy. Now that we have that sorted. This thread is in the…
  • Low carb is amazing for PCOS, I have a very similar condition that has many of the same symptoms. In my body carbs have a major inflammatory response so this works well for me and a huge number of other people. It is not a one size fits all WOE and no one way will ever work perfectly for everyone.
