I've lost 22 pounds in 17 weeks (about 1.3lbs a week) by changing diet alone. I just recently started lifting weights (light weights). I need to change the shape of my body now. My body is the annoying skinny-fat at the current moment

I have lost most of the weight I wanted to lose but now I want to get in shape (increase endurance, strength, etc). Like you, I most definitely want to be a fit momma and be extra healthy during pregnancy. I'm planning on ttc in December. It'll be here before you know it!

Well food cravings are due to the influx of hormones while you are pregnant. While they are indeed strong (and maybe even signal a nutrient(s) you are missing) I think it is important to be mindful. Physical exercise is great but perhaps add some yoga/meditation to your routine too. Be mindful of the fact that you are…

Hi OP, I am so sorry for your loss this past March. That is absolutely heartbreaking. I too suffered a miscarriage (a while back) and know the physical and EMOTIONAL toll it can put you under so I really hope you take care of yourself during this emotional time. I think it is great you are trying to get fit for a healthy…

I think it's going to be different with everyone. Welbutrin totally killed my appetite and upped my energy (and mood-thank god) so I've actually lost quite a bit of weight. But as you said already definitely going to your doc is going to be your best bet. I tried a couple other antidepressants (Paxil and Lexepro) that had…

I am a vegan so I tried soy protein powders for years but it jus never settled well with me. I now use a pumpkin seed protein powder. It's pretty tasteless so I am able to put it not just my smoothies but also in soups and pancake batter. No complaints so far. I use the "Omega Nutrition" brand. Here is a link that includes…

I love that he laid out your fav dress and was in a suit. I often feel like my husband doesn't get how desperately I would like us to both get dressed up. We don't have to go anywhere, like what you two did, a nice dinner at home is perfect. Just the getting dressed up part is so nice, to me it shows you still care <3

Congratulations on your new little one!! :) Well depending how much underweight you were with your ED 50lbs may just be what saved your life. I too gained nearly 50lbs after overcoming my ED and it put me in the normal bmi index. Now, I'm actually preparing TTC so I am trying to bring my weight down just so I can gain that…

I had no clue you could do this type of graph! Im always doing my weekly average on a calculator lol so thanks op! To your post though I think we all may let our guard down a bit with friends for a night out but I would think by cutting little things here and there will be helpful and also you still can enjoy time with…

This. I count the 4-5 sticks of gum I chew (5 cals a piece) a day along with my gummy vitamins at 25 cals. Those two things are only 45-50 cals but not counting that feels like I'm cheating myself or something. I also probably consume 200-300 cals of greens a day anyhow. So I guess it's just whatever you feel comfortable…

I've had a few binges from time to time and it was because I was far too restrictive (for me) of what I was eating. So, I now eat 5-6 small meals a day. In addition to the protein and fiber recommendations above I would also incorporate a healthy amount of fat too to your diet. Just eating a few slices of an avocado or…

Hey Op, I am writing this on my phone so forgive any mistakes but here is a day's worth of food I eat probably once a week, if not more. Breakfast: Whole grain plus flax tortilla wrap. One tablespoon of homemade guacamole (or a few slices of avocado). 1/2 cup seasoned chickpeas (1 can of chickpeas, simmered in low sodium…
-
Ah yeah, that could definitely do it.

Saw that too. The throwing up thing is what struck me as odd. Im not suggesting anything other than has the OP been to see her physician about that? Unless someone is doing like a major binge or something I would think one cheat meal/day wouldn't cause someone to get sick and throw up. Op, do you have acid reflux? Have you…

Same here. I've got these boney shoulders and my collar bones are very noticeable and then move your eyes down and it's not pretty :s

Breasts and butt. My butt has literally caved in (despite my squats/lifting) but I'm still sticking with it- it has to eventually get some muscle, right? My saddle bags and stomach are last to go, they love to just hang out while the good parts leave. :(

I was concerned for the same thing regarding my husband. Although he is at a healthy weight and never have been overweight he too developed chest fat and I know it bothers him. I don't think anything changed in his diet so I went to the trusty Internet (cough) and saw that he may have higher than normal estrogen levels and…

Ugh it would be California. I don't say that negatively either, I just mean that I will probably die before I ever see one here in Texas :( I love Amy's kitchen frozen entrees though so I am sure it made fresh is going to be amazing! :)

My brother recently passed away so I was relying heavily on alcohol to cope- I know that is bad but what's really bad is when you see your loved one one day and then 12 hours later you get a phone call he's gone so I coped and now I am coping with coping by exercising instead of drinking and yeah I'm just too exhausted to…

Well, it is not on a regular basis. As I mentioned in a few other replies it is not set in stone every week I do this on the 2 days I go to school, other times I will just come home and go to bed. I agreed with the advice from another poster here who said they try to reach their macros if they know they are going to have…
-
Well the general consensus here says it is CICO (all of MFP seems to say that) and with my 13 pound weight loss in a little less than 3 months I am going to go with that as not being "crap science" but rather truth.
-
That's fair enough. I dont always plan on drinking a beer or two so maybe I can be more mindful of my macros on the two days I go to school just in case. Thank you for the tip to watch the macros :)
-
Haha its not so bad. lol
-
Anyways maybe I should mention also I do not always substitute the beer those two nights, sometimes I just go straight to bed and avoid dinner or beer altogether. Thank you for your support. I don't wake up hung over and always get my workouts in so like I said I just waned reassurance on the CICO. Thank you again :)…
-
That is kind of what I figured- CICO but like I said I just wanted that reassurance. Thank you :)

In my late teen years I thought the same as you OP and developed anorexia nervosa. It took me a while to really grasp my body burned calories even when I was sleeping (not many but nonetheless). So, no this is not a stupid question, this is a very good question. You do not need to burn off the calories you eat, unless you…

As said above you cannot spot reduce but you can tone and add definition. I do several leg workouts and have noticed some fabulous leg muscles, which yes my thighs are still thick but at least they don't jiggle any longer :)

Do you weigh your food? That was my biggest change for me to lose weight. I know it may be a hassle but when I actually saw what 31 grams of cereal (the portion size) actually looks like I knew I was not sticking to my calories as I originally thought. It really made all the difference for me. It's tedious at first but it…

This was explained so simply. I appreciate it. This helps me a lot and I'm not even the original OP. :D
