LOL this thread indeed

Albendazole is apparently not commonly available in Canada, but I’ll be asking for a correct dosage on Wednesday, since what was originally prescribed to me was clearly not what was needed
-
I’m glad I noticed the worm in my stool at all, otherwise god only knows how much longer the diagnosis would have taken :// I still eat raw meats too, I love it too much and the way I see it, I already HAVE parasites soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
What’s hilarious is that I’m originally Venezuelan, I immigrated here twenty years ago, and everyone I’ve told about the worms has been like “GURL HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO NOT GET WORMS IN VENEZUELA BUT YOU GOT THEM IN C A N A D A”
-
I can’t have too much in my stomach at any given time without nausea, so I haven’t been drinking as much as I ought to, but I do drink water pretty consistently throughout the day to help with the stomach cramping; I might switch to a light broth or sports drink though, water certainly doesn’t provide any much needed…

When I first went to the pharmacists for an OTC alternative after the first two weeks of the mystery illness (a close friend of mine is Mexican and she immediately suspected parasites ironically), the pharmacist said I couldn’t get any deworming meds without a prescription! I’ll definitely go back and try again if the…

My dad’s dogs had worms this summer, and I was in contact with them then, so it’s very possible that I picked the parasites up from them, but it could also very well have been uncooked meat since I will admit to being very partial to sushi, and tartares....
-
I wish I could just go to the pharmacy and pick up some of these babies, but antiparasitic medicine is regulated in Canada, I can’t get it over the counter
-
I definitely feel sickest when I can’t eat, but the nausea is so powerful and the lack of appetite so complete that feeding the worms is an almost impossible task. I’ve been trying to graze on nuts and cheese and crackers inasmuch as I can since the sweetness of shakes upsets my stomach/(activates the worms??) too much,…
-
I sent in some stool tests to the lab to determine exactly what kind of parasites I have (since the picture I got was clearly not enough to determine type, only determine cause), but the results haven’t come in yet
-
I’ve been to three different medical doctors (miss me with the homeopathic *kitten* lmao), a GI, and the emergency room twice, but I only got the parasite diagnosis after I physically....expelled.... a parasite; before that I was being tested for all sorts of gastrointestinal things like celiacs, crohns, IBD, IBS, c.diff,…

Sorry for the wait, too busy to check back in before now! I was diagnosed by a GI after (tmi) I showed her a picture of my stools, in which there was a very obvious worm, and I told her about all of my symptoms. She wanted to spare me from having a colonoscopy/gastroscopy that day considering the diagnosis seemed pretty…

Congrats on your success so far! I'm also 5'5" and I ALSO started at 207 two months ago! I'm at 193 now, mostly through calorie counting and cutting sugar and carbs! Here's hoping I'll be at the progress-picture stage soon! You look great :) super motivating to see someone with the same stats reaching their goals!!!

I have had Mirena for a little over a year now and what got me started on my weight loss journey is the fact that I put on about 25 pounds very shortly after getting it put in! In the past 50 days I've lost 14 of those pounds however, so it doesn't seem to be affecting the way my body retains mass any more; by now my body…

Congrats on your 5k success!!!! Running a 5k is one of my goals this year, I hope that it goes as well for me as it has for you!
-
Congrats on your progress!!! I actually started on February 20th myself, at 207 and I'm at 196.5 now; haven't lost quite as much as you have but I've lost a lot of centimeters here and there which is super encouraging!! It's really nice to see someone on the same time frame as me! Keep at it!!! We're gonna kill it!!
-
Can't wait to get there!! I'm at the barely-can-jog-2-minutes mark right now, but I hope to get to where you are someday!
-
I've had a couple since starting with MFP 45 days ago but it wasn't until this last one that I just had to post on here: -Since I started tracking calories over 45 days ago, I have only gone over my goal ONCE and only by 30-40 calories -Lots of people noticing my weight loss even though it hasn't felt like much to me (I've…

Congrats on inches lost!! I've been carb free for a month and while I wasn't working out I dropped like, 10lbs in two weeks but as soon as I started exercising some, in an attempt to change not just my eating habits, but my lifestyle? Right back up seven pounds! That's when I realized that my body is great at retaining…

Walked about 16,000 steps today, although my phone died before it could track most :( still an accomplishment, even if it wasn't recorded!
-
Congrats to you both! I know what it's like to feel that your progress doesn't show as much as you'd like it to, but you guys look WONDERFUL in your after picture! Keep on keeping on, and good luck reaching your goals, both you and your wife!

15,120 today!! Might walk a tad bit more around the house before day's end, but after walking 7.6km from work to home, I think I might just crawl if I need to go to the restroom or kitchen!!
-
OP HERE AGAIN!! I DID IT! After my rousing success with skipping stops on Monday, I decided to try walking home today; as expected it took about 2 hours, and the extra couple of kilometers added from Monday were KILLER, but despite how sore my legs are, I'm PUMPED! Never thought I could, let alone WOULD, do it! Great day…
-
13,500 today, and counting! Will likely hit 14,000 by the end of the night now that I'm home!
-
So far, so great! Over 10,000 since Saturday, and I plan to keep it up until the end of the week at LEAST! Already logged 8100 steps and it's only 2!
-
OP here! Today I went to work directly by metro, but on the way back I walked 5.4km of the way! My metro route does kind of a U over water/highways so I cut out the trickier parts of the walk by walking to the last convenient metro stop, getting on for four of my nine stops, and then I got off early and walked the last…

That's some solid advice right there!
-
I would do the same, but since my job and classes are at a major university, all buses that run anywhere near it make a stop very close to it, so the only way to add more walking with transit would be to get off a few stops before! The weather is finally above 0 so I can finally go out and not die from the cold. After all,…

Feel free to add me, I'm also low carb (Keto) and I am on the app pretty much all the time :P
-
I'll ride around near my house tomorrow, see if I can't get a little more comfortable biking! I'll definitely need a helmet though; cars and cyclists do not get along very well in Montreal :P
