When we met, we were more like acquaintances. I moved from Hawaii. We then started talking to each other last April. That's when our relationship actually started.

I wasn't necessarily seeking advice from people on here. I just wanted to see peoples' perspectives.
-
I'm not making it into one. I just wanted to see about the kids part.
-
I meant to say that I match his maturity levels.

It's not the religion. My sister-in-law met my brother when she was 17. They've been married for about 12 years. They are 17 years apart and have 3 kids. She did have her 1st kid about 2 years after marriage though. My boyfriend and I have known each other for 8 years. Even when I was younger, I had a huge crush on him but…

I'm not making the decision right now. There's a lot of other things to consider. I personally wanted to see what other people thought on this matter.

We have been together for a year. We openly talk about getting married. We're not sure when but know that we have to discuss other matters before we both decide we seriously want to be with each other.

We've talked about these things for a year now. His maturity level matches mine. We like a lot of the same stuff including music artists, movies, going out, and a lot of other stuff.
-
You're right. I ultimately will make my own choices but it doesn't hurt to see what people say about this.
-
I will have a detailed discussion with him and feel completely open. I just wanted to see the variety of perspectives on the matter.
-
Btw, my sister-in-law married my brother when she was 18, met him when she was 17. They are 17 years apart. Within our religion, we don't eat meat, have illicit sex, gamble, or have any kind of intoxicants.

My parents don't know yet. That's good. I plan on having a detailed discussion with him on the matter but just wanted to see perspectives on it.
-
Yes, I will definitely have a discussion with him but wanted to see people's perspectives and thoughts on the matter.

I've known this guy for 8 years. Plus, in his traditions, age gap isn't an issue. My sister-in-law met her husband at 17 and he is 17 years older than her. Now, that is a pretty huge age gap.
-
Within the religion we're in, we don't drink any alcohol.

I feel the same as you lol my fiance was all for kids when we first got together, and i just wasnt. Its not that i dont like kids but id like to enjoy life first and complete everything i want to. And now that we've gotten this far, planning a wedding while trying to save for a house ect, he said yesterday hes scared to…

I just like to see the variety of responses I get and different people's perspectives.
-
I'm not rushing to get married. Just whenever my boyfriend and I feel it's time.

All of your comments sound good and make sense.

Um...you understand that he will be about 40 if you guys wait 10 years? That's....not "too old". Lots of people have children at 40. [/quote] Yeah, I understand that. They sure are a lot lot lot of responsibility.
-
Hmmm.....but don't you think that the age difference also has something to do with it? Also, I heard that you don't want the guy to be too old when you have kids otherwise he won't have the energy to really help take care of them.
-
We haven't had a complete full-on discussion about it. He did say it would be fine if I had kids later but something makes me feel like guys would never want to wait so long. I just wanted to see what other people thought.

Yeah, I agree on the no grains part. Back in April of last year, I literally ate broccoli, yogurt, fruit and veggie patties everyday. That was when I saw my weight go down from 122-117 in about 2 weeks. I'm going to go back to that even though I know that what I ate before was definitely less than 1,000 calories. But I…

It does sound more realistic. Btw I calculated my body fat percentage and it came to 26%.

Hey, I used to weigh 117 lbs last year in April. I remember specifically what I ate at that time to drop from 120 to 117 in maybe little over a week. I had yogurt and fruit for breakfast, broccoli for lunch, broccoli and veggie burger for dinner. I know that is drastically under 1,000 calories but I never felt hungry. I'm…

I've been eating around 1,000. But whenever I eat junk food, I'm sure it goes over that. I actually went 10 days without added sugar or refined carbs. I really believe, if I have the willpower, I can overcome the addiction of sugar. Even studies have shown that sugar is as addictive as cocaine. I calculated my body fat…
