  • I have the Charge HR and I love it. I'm tempted to upgrade to the Blaze model but I only got this one a couple of months ago! Hopefully I'll get it as a wonderful wedding gift from the fiancé ;)
  • Two main factors caused a 30ish lb gain over five years. One was university and the other was becoming comfortable with my partner. He doesn't have the best eating habits (he can not eat at all at work some days!) so I would make sure he got a good dinner at night, which meant me as well even though I was at home eating…
  • I've been to Yin Yoga and I have never been so relaxed in my life. Everything had left me, I was a hollow shell with no worries, thoughts... It was serene. Unfortunately I only went the once as it clashes with my weights class, but it was bliss.
  • Don't completely cut anything out- have it, just make it fit. I would go bat crazy without a bit of chocolate. I bought loads of 100 kcal mini chocolate bars and munch on one of those once a day. Fits into my calories and keeps me happy that I can have a little treat and not break the calorie bank! :)
  • About 3lbs during easter as I went to visit family and was away from the gym. Took about a week for it to disappear and go back to Pre-Easter weight. It was two weeks essentially of wasted potential weight loss, but heck I enjoyed it!
  • Congrats to you too! It is baby steps but each extra one will be a massive accomplishment for someone who did no exercise at all five months ago!
  • I've found that when I have a slower day workout wise the next morning I'll have dropped weight. I think it is just because I'm giving my body the extra rest so it releases some water. No doubt it will go up again tomorrow as I had 3 back to back classes at the gym this morning.. Haha. The trend over time is the main…
  • Haha, no pics, but I did one but my fiancé was out of the room so that one didn't count! I did call him back to witness when I did it again though ;) I'm going to try and build it up. Start off with the full form push up, try another, if I fail then do the rest of the set on my knees. I need to get to a position where I…
  • I've been told the core is almost like a band going from the front to the back, a large muscle which holds everything in. Essentially like a nappy without the side bits, just the bit between your legs. At first with Pilates I was like you. Then it kind of clicks at some point as you feel it. Best way I can think of is to…
  • As far as I'm aware, no. You have to post a status if you want it on your wall. I don't even bother most of the time.
  • I'm 5'3 and started at 178. I'm now 160(.4!) For me, the only person who outright commented was my fiancé's brother, which was after about 12 pounds or so. He was aware I was working out and trying to lose weight though so it's probably a bit more obvious. My face has definitely slimmed down though, which is obvious as…
  • Nothing to add, but I love that you call it shark week.
  • Feel free to add me, located in Berkshire with a wedding in Kent in August! 1 stone 3lbs lost in the last three months, hoping for the same loss for my first dress fitting on 6th July :)
  • I found that having a protein shake for breakfast helped me. I drink it throughout the morning so it satisfies me until lunch. Protein helps me stay fuller for longer.
  • Lately I have been somehow weighing exactly the same at 6:30am as I am at 8pm. It's probably because I only eat around 500 calories between that time and I also go to the gym. Most of my calories are saved for dinner so I don't have to stick to salad + protein. Bring on the chips!
  • Yep, same with me. I get satisfied with smaller portions now. It's get to the point where I don't have boredom hunger, I get bored while eating so stop!
  • Whatever floats your boat as long as you are in a deficit. I always make room for chocolate. I can't go without some milkybar buttons to keep me going :)
  • Probably water retention. The scale didn't move for two weeks after I started a new exercise routine. Now it's coming off steadily.
  • I have a protein shake, purely because it keeps me full until lunch time and I cannot be bothered to make breakfast in the morning.
  • The thing that kicked it off for me was that my wedding is in August this year, and I want to look the best I can. I may not be model-thin of athletic, but if I'm happy with what I see in the mirror that will be enough! Plus I have put on weight since meeting my fiancé (probably around 30 pounds... Ugh) and I want to be…
  • I did weeks 1-4 from mid-Jan to mid-Feb, then I got a gym membership and started going to classes as I found them more fun. I now have no time for running, which is a bit sad as if I kept it up I should (in theory) be running 5k easily now. Ah well. Just makes my 10k run in May a bit more interesting ;)
  • I work 8:30 - 4:30. During my half hour lunch break, I'll go for a walk. It's down the hill and back up again, so it's a nice route. I go to the gym for 6 and do a couple of classes (45-60 mins each), home just after 8pm. I also go to a couple of classes on Saturday, with Sunday being my fun day. Once you get into a…
  • Being a shorter lady, I don't have many calories to play with. I'm sure I underestimate my dinner calories (it's harder to portion out when cooking two portions together- i.e stir fry) so I do leave a buffer so to speak. This is a typical weekday, weekends vary. Breakfast - Protein shake - 200 kcal Lunch - Salad with…
  • I've still got a way to go, but definitely my face first and then my stomach/waist has slimmed a bit. Unfortunately my thunder thighs are sticking around. Large thighs on a little lady (5'3) do not look good. No wonder I live in skirts/dresses.
  • After 10lbs my face definitely slimmed down. I have a naturally round face though so the extra weight just stuffed it out.
  • I'm hoping to be 145 by my wedding in August, as that was the weight I was when I first met my fiancé. I'm only 5'3 and I'm still pudgy at that so I need to lose further, but not sure how much. I don't want to just lose though, I also want to build muscle for definition. I want to look sexy in a bikini! For now, 145 is my…
  • My fiancé has a chocolate tin. He has filled it up with Snickers, Twix, Kitkats... All things I could genuinely devour. But I don't. I don't want to. It has gotten to the point in my journey that my outlook on food has changed, where I would rather hit my goal then go over for a piece of chocolate that won't satisfy me for…
  • It depends. If I'm hungry, I'll eat them. If I'm not, I don't. I probably eat about 1200-1300 calories a day tracked, so my exercise calories really act for a buffer for inconsistencies in logging (ie underestimating what has been eaten).
  • I'm 5'3, with no idea on a final goal weight as I genuinely do not know what looks good on my body! I have never been 'skinny'. I have a large frame so even though I'm short, I can carry weight a bit better. CW: 166.6 Hoping to get to 145 by Mid-June. It's probably unrealistic, but I'll be happy with a pound a week, which…
  • What triggered it for me and to stick with it was the realisation my wedding was 8 months away. I wanted to look good standing in front of my friends and family, look smoking hot for my future husband and for vanity when looking back at pictures! While that started it, it has now evolved to being healthy. I have never been…
