For two months last year i just counted carbs. Didnt worry about calories. My job is requires a lot of walking during the day and during the summer with temps in the low 100s to 120s it can take a toll on your body. For those two months I consumned mostly meats, 73/27 ground beef with cheese. On average i consumed about…

I was stuck at 262lbs for about 2 weeks. It was frustrating but I was also taking my body measurements. I saw a drop in those so I knew the weight had to be water weight. There is alot of really good advice in the posts above mine. Find what works for you and tweak it to your taste. Keep up the good work!

I don't have diabetes but I test my Blood sugars quite regularly. It's been fascinating to watch how certain foods affect my blood sugars. I know that if I test when I first wake up that I'll be around 76-78. Random tests throughout the day will usually yield results in the 88-95 range. I've had it spike as high as 190 but…

I haven't had any issues with it but I may try a 30 or 60 day experiment to see if I notice any changes in how I feel...

My goal for the month is to Row at least 2000m a day on my Concept2 Rower. It just arrived on Friday the 8th so it came just in time. My first 2000m row on the 10th was done in 9 minutes 56 seconds. I would love to drop a minute off that by the end of the month. Also I will upping my daily step goal to 15,000 steps a day.…

Some very truly inspirational why stories here. I love the fact them at there are so many different and unique stories. Here's my Why Story. Growing up I was always chubby but I was not lazy. I was often found outside with all my skinny friends running around causing chaos in the neighborhood. I played soccer when I was…

Congrats! Hopefully that a1c will drop significantly. I'm not diabetic but I'm always checking my blood sugars. Tested my a1c a week ago and I was 5.8. I'd like to see it drop a couple tenths. My Dr. asked me how I had dropped weight and improved my HDL/LDL and tri numbers when I told him LCHF he was ok with it since I had…

I agree, I have some friends that are Gym Rats and they hate Planet Fitness, they feel like they should be able to slam weights and generally be obnoxious in order for it to be a real gym. They are also the types that like to talk about far or lazy people. When you go to PF you will see people of all fitness levels, some…

I did the LCHF last year and dropped 50lbs in only a couple months. Now to be honest it was more of a NCHF. I wouldn't touch anything that had carbs in it. Unless it was in the form of fiber. Some people really struggle at the beginning as the body depletes itself of all those carbs and goes into that Ketogenic state,…

Thank you! I know what works for me and I'm going to stick with that, just add more cardio and weight training this time. I have a specific goal I want to reach by the end of this year. So I must remain focused and vigilant! :)

Thank you, I just need the extra motivation. I need to stay focused!

I agree, it has been very frustrating. My job adds a lot of stress but I love what I do. I'm always keeping track of things such as my blood glucose levels, blood pressure, body measurements, weight, BF%, BMI because a lot of times it will tell me if I need to make adjustments to my diet. Cooking for myself has helped…

I found getting my calories on a 65%/30%/5% fat/protein/carb ratio works well for me. I can consistently drop 1-2lbs a week without trying and there is a huge assortment of foods you can eat.

Definitely need some motivation in my life.
