I get super snacky at night too so I keep high volume/low calorie foods around. This can help if you just feel like eating but aren't necessarily hungry. Examples might be fat free lightly salted popcorn or baby carrots (or any non-starch veggie really) with 1-2 Tbsp. of hummus. My go to snack for sweet cravings is frozen…

Do you think you're underweight? Does your doctor think you're underweight? If you are healthy and happy, doesn't matter what some people on the internet think!

I also recently started yoga! I will say attending a couple of classes before I started on my own helped me establish good initial form and learn some of the basic moves with a bit of guidance! If you don't do that just start slow, and if something hurts you are either pushing yourself too hard or might have an issue with…

I went through a sort of similar situation... It sounds like your husband is reacting a lot like my boyfriend did when I first started making the effort to eat healthier. He would bring me sweet treats and junk food or try to convince me to eat something "bad" even after I said no. I was frustrated and a little hurt that…

I love to make this smoothie... I'm a huge ice cream lover and this satisfies that craving for me! Cut up and freeze a banana in a ziploc baggie Throw frozen banana in the blender with 1 Tbsp. Natural peanut butter, 1 cup low fat milk, 1 Tbsp. Cocoa powder, blend well! You can use 1/2 a banana if you need the calories to…

I've lost 30 so far with another 15-20 to go, and I've lost pretty slowly as well as incorporated yoga, Pilates and traditional strength training to tone as I lose and am hoping not to deal with loose skin when I'm at my goal weight! Good luck and I'm interested to hear what others have to say too as I'm not quite there…

"You should log the exercise you do, and enjoy the calories from it. You should also log the wine and small snacks. It would really be an amazing coincidence if your wine and snacks always had the same amount of calories you burned from exercise. It's not like they'll equal out if you just ignore them, that's how most of…

Sijomial thanks for sharing that link, totally helped clear up the areas where I was confused!!

You mentioned having an office job... Bring in an exercise ball to sit on or see if you could have a stand up desk set up. The exercise ball helps with posture, your balance and core, and as long as you get the right size for your height it is pretty comfortable. Try taking a stroll or going up and down the stairs on your…

I love stuffed pepper soup!! http://www.skinnytaste.com/stuffed-pepper-soup/ I follow this recipe except I sub ground turkey for ground beef, sometimes I also use veggie broth instead of chicken and omit the turkey for a meatless option. I'll also add some chopped up jalapeños and red pepper flakes if I want it to have a…

I love the grapefruit La Croix and keep lots of different teas on hand (honey lavender or hibiscus green tea by Yogi for example) when I want something to drink besides water. And if I'm craving something sweet I'll add a teaspoon of local honey to the tea and a dash of cinnamon or splash of milk!

Hi there! I would focus less on losing 6 lbs, and more on de-bloating, toning, and posture! You can definitely lose some weight, but focusing on all of things will help you feel and look better for your sister's special day!

I agree with those saying to log your cheat days! I did and it helped me to realize what foods were just too bad to include even on cheat days, OR have a much smaller portion. Since I'm sort of plateauing at 150 (I'm 5'5" also!), and have had some issues with binging, I don't do cheat days, and if I want a "cheat treat"…

First of all, congrats on your journey to become healthier!! I agree that you're probably eating more calories than you think. If you weigh things out at home, eventually you'll be able to eye ball the things at school more. Also consider bringing a lunch if that's an option, then you can figure out your calories at home.…

Congrats on your progress! I'd be cautious trying to cut your calories down TOO much. From my up and down weight loss progress experience... I'd rather consistently lose half a pound a week eating 1500 calories than lose two pounds one week, gain a pound the next week, lose one, gain three, etc. as I do when I restrict too…

First of all, don't be ashamed of your current numbers, we're all here to better ourselves and everyone is starting at a different point with a different goal. I thought I'd comment on some of my methods since I find myself at somewhat of a plateau as well! Cocktail drinking was also one of my weaknesses, now I only allow…

I'm not sure if this is true for you, but for me, this happens when I picked high calorie/unfulfilling foods early on in the day. Say I had a high calorie coffee drink with breakfast... Obviously that's going to eat up my calories and not make me feel any less hungry. So maybe try to see if you did that? Also, if you…

I don't think any of us can really tell you a number when it will be most noticeable. Everyone is different! I started to really notice, and friends and family commented, after I lost 30 lbs, BUT I also moved out of state and came back to visit after that jump, so that probably makes it seem like a more dramatic…

Thanks everyone. I definitely don't expect him to eliminate what he likes to eat just because it's tempting to me. I guess it's the "have a bite, aw come on just one, split it with me" day in day out that's wears down my resistance haha. It is up to me though and I will just have to be better with self control and…
