  • Make a huge batch of soup with lots of veggies in it (you can use canned or frozen to make it cheaper). That soup will go a long ways for meals and can be low in calories, depending on serving size. Other than that, I also make up casseroles that are lower in calories per serving and can go a long ways in covering meals…
  • Healthy depends on what your definition of health is. One of my favorites is Stuffed Pepper Soup https://www.recipesthatcrock.com/slow-cooker-stuffed-pepper-soup/. I add a cup of beef broth to the recipe and then an hour before it's done I add minute rice because who wants to cook rice separately???
  • I just use plain old paper. I shop once a week so before I go I map out the week with what we have going on and figure out what meals I will cook. Then I list out the items I don't have handy and off I go. I suppose there are ways to make it more technical but the hard part is still going to be deciding what to cook and…
  • I love food as well (in fact I'm pretty sure everyone on here does!). The key is portions. Enjoy your favorite foods but make sure the amount that you enjoy fits in your allotted calories.
  • I check daily. I feel it helps me keep on track and accountable for my habits!
  • I was at 1240 for the first part of my weight loss journey (now I'm set at .5 lbs/week loss so it gave me more calories). The 1240 pushed me to work out/be active every single day so that I could eat more calories. I also found some foods to be more filling than others for the calories so I did a lot of swaps so I wasn't…
  • This is why some people don't use or rarely use scales. I use my scale diligently to make sure I'm moving in the right direction and not back-tracking. Apparently the trainer is helping so keep up the good work!
  • Welcome Andrea! You are welcome to add me as a friend. You can do this!
  • The Beef and Broccoli Fit Bowl is pretty darn tasty for a frozen meal and far more filling than most!
  • Wow. I eat a lot of frozen meals for my lunches and always assumed that they would be accurate. We know what happens when we assume! Thanks for the warning :)
  • I mainly enjoy leftovers or soup for lunch. Sometimes I mix it up by buying rotisserie chicken salad and making a delicious sandwich though. Or frozen meals, they are easy to keep in the freezer at work and eat when I don't have other choices.
  • I am also a snacker. A few suggestions that work for me: Keep busy. The busier I am, the less snacky I am. Also, most days I pre-log my food in the morning so I know exactly what I will be able to eat. If I'm still hungry after I consume my pre-approved snack, I remind myself that I just ate and am not hungry, I'm bored!…
  • When I first started this journey, my goal was to move every day. I may only work out a few days a week but on the other days I'll clean or garden or walk. Just getting yourself off the couch and moving every day helps in the process of losing weight and becoming more healthy.
  • I keep my freezer stocked with these all the time. Definitely one of the reasons I've been able to lose the weight! Coffee choc chip is my favorite, followed by cookie dough and sea salt caramel.
  • I cook the same meals as I did before counting calories. The only difference is I consume a portion that fits within my calorie limits. That way I don't miss any of my favorite foods, my family happily enjoys the food and I still lose weight. Win-win!
  • I eat my cereal with milk usually but also keep some in my desk to eat as a snack without milk. Multi-grain cheerios are my favorite to eat that way - slightly sweet and crunchy. Makes me wish I had some in my desk right now!
  • I do 1/2 cup of 4% cottage cheese and 1/2 tablespoon jam. For such a small amount it is surprisingly filling and can get me through 3-4 hours before I enjoy a banana.
  • I tried those biscuits before and they were not good. Those cookies look pretty tasty though!
  • I bought a lettuce container years ago from Tupperware and it is the best thing. I wash up the lettuce and put it in the container and it last a long time!
  • Hello! I'm not vegan or a mom but you are welcome to friend me. I'm almost 41 and down to my last 10 pounds to lose so we're similar!

  • You look fantastic! Great job!!!
  • I make my herbal teas hot and then chill them. They are just as tasty cold as they are hot!
  • I have the dvd but haven't tried it yet! I love her other dvd's so I'm hoping I like this one too!
  • Thank you comptoneliza. My dr put me on it since I was so low. I'll be getting re-checked soon and hopefully I can lower my dosage!
  • Wow, the timing of this post is weird! I've been taking 5000 daily for almost a year. I always take it in the morning but my sleep has been just awful. This morning as I was getting ready for work I decided I should google sleep issues with vit d and see what I found. I haven't had time to do a search yet but it appears…
  • When I was initially losing weight I was on 1240/day. Now I'm at a 1/2 pound loss/week so my calorie count is a bit higher. I did pretty well with the 1240, especially if I stayed away from fast food. What really helped me though was working out, it added just enough calories for me to feel full and have a treat. I lost…
  • They don't carry the fudge brownie ones at my store! That sounds delicious...I'll have to see if I can find them elsewhere!
  • I prefer room temp for plain water. Most of what I consume is hot water with a flavored tea bag in it that I drink all day, even when it cools to room temp. I can’t drink much of cold water, it seems to quench my thirst so much that I don’t consume enough.
