One year progress - Size 20 to 10

I'm still a work in progress, but since it's my "anniversary", I feel like I should celebrate how far I've come.
One year ago, I decided I would not approach my 50s at over 200 lbs. At 5'4", I was 230 lbs. I was 46 years old and have two young daughters. I was prediabetic and had no energy. Something had to change. I started with diet only, and didn't start working out until several months in.
One year later, I am 149 lbs. Just a few lbs from goal. The below pic is at about 160. My ultimate goal is 145, which will put me at a healthy BMI. Even if I never get there, I feel amazing, and am so happy that I tried 'just one more time'.

Congratulations you look awesome! We have very similar stats so I was wondering if you have a lot of hanging skin? I am so afraid I will have a lot of it everywhere.3

It's not too bad, actually. I have some batwings under my arms, but I don't think my stomach is too bad. The worst is my neck. I have a turkey neck now. A facelift is definitely in my future!
I think most of this is genetic. My great aunts all had the flabby under arms, and turkey necks too.
It's still better than being obese.13 -

I lost the first 30 pounds by diet alone, and it came off quickly.
Once I started exercising I had more energy, slept better, and was more motivated to eat better to fuel my workouts.
I also started out slow - just talking walks, then doing cardio only at the gym, on the eliptical mostly. I didn't start weights until I was more than 50 pounds down.2
