Well folks, this week is not starting out well. My energy levels have been near zero. I mustered a 3-mile walk/hike thing last night, but when I got home my entire body felt achy, like I had the flu or something. This morning I am still zero energy, and my legs are super stiff and I'm just feeling all sorts of run down.…

You just described me to a T. You just left out the incessant jiggling part.

Miss a day, miss 115 posts! I'll have to catch up later. Yesterday was a rest day and today is back to work. I plan to have a run when I get home as waking up this morning was pretty difficult. I had a total of 19 miles last week, which is almost 20 so I'm pleased.

Just time for a quickie this morning as I woke up late. 2.5 miles. But I met my goal for the week of doing some running every day this week! Weather is nice again today. May have a walk later.

Finally, a nice day! Got out and ran 3.3 miles around lunch time and it was just beautiful out. Not much else to report. Have a great weekend!

Found it much easier to fall asleep last night once I put in earplugs. Seriously, just about every house on my block had people setting off those infernal boomy things. I had to get up early today because I needed to go in for some bloodwork and I had to have been fasting so... went in, got the blood drawn, then…

OK, so... 7/2 = 3.6 7/3 = 3.4 7/4 = 5.0 ! Total so far = 12.0 miles Not a bad start to the month. I am elated that I made it 5 miles today. Granted, I ran it in the time it used to take me to run 10k. But WHO CARES. I'm running. I've run three days in a row. Go me. Tomorrow will probably be a rest/walk day because I can't…

Sigh. 90 degrees again today. At least there's an afternoon Cubs game to listen to on the treadmill... Actually, I'm finding myself defaulting to the treadmill a lot these days, and not just because of the heat. My agoraphobia has kind of gotten out of control since the beginning of the year, and I'm finding that I'm…

I'm in the western suburbs of Chicago, USA, where it is currently hot as satan's you-know-what.

Ack Miss one day, have to catch up on ten pages. I didn't run all weekend due to just utter laziness. But my vacation week starts today so I did run today. It's been crazy hot lately so hello treadmill. 3.6 miles today. My goal for this week is to run at least a little bit every day M-Sat. As far as a July goal... I will…

All this talk about beer at races makes me wish I could drink alcohol. But alas, the psychiatrist said NO ALCOHOL while I'm taking lorazepam, so... feh. So let's recap. No alcohol. No dairy. Good thing I don't live in Wisconsin. I live just below it, in Illinois, and let me tell you, I MISS Chicago style pizza! I miss…

OK, that was a nasty spell of depression the past few days. I was finally able to get up and run this morning. Well, it was a walk/run, but the run part felt okay. I even tried taking the last half mile at my "old" pace to see what it felt like, and I was able to get through the half mile just fine. Not sure how long I can…

Tried another outdoor run this evening and feel like I failed miserably. It was nice enough out, in the 70s and low humidity, but apparently that's too hot for the likes of me. The first two miles were okay, and I even made the second mile in 11:55. But maybe I was going too fast, because by the end of mile 3 I felt…

Hooray for everyone who raced this weekend! I can only live vicariously through you because I am terrified of races. Today is a rest day for me, as it is Sunday, my usual day to be completely exhausted. Happens every Sunday, no clue why.

Ah, Saturday morning. My favorite day to run. There are great shows on the radio and I have plenty of time to run as long as I want. Today I ran for an hour. A whole hour. I haven't run for an hour in months and months. The last five minutes were daunting, I could feel my shins tightening up, but I made it. A whole hour.…

I must be hormonal right now because I yelled at my radio app for playing too many of the same damn commercials! I need a better app to listen to. I'm not really into podcasts, or rather haven't found any that hold my attention. What I am looking forward to is tomorrow morning's Sports Medicine Weekly show. Love that show,…

You sound exactly like me. I also took about three months off because my meds were giving me leg pain. Got off those meds, pain went away, but the new meds make me ravenous all the time! I've gained 30 pounds since January! But I'm slowly getting back at it. The doctor agreed to let me cut my dosage in half to see if it…

I love my treadmill but I have a fear of the thing stopping suddenly while I'm running. It happened once at a gym I used to go to. Power went out in the middle of my run, and THAT was a rude awakening. Ever since then I've been scared it'll happen again.

Hooray, the forums are working again! Today I had an ugly 3.5 mile... something on the treadmill this morning. I'd call it a run but meh, the pace was so bad I may as well have been walking real fast. My energy levels are never very good in the early morning. My previous run was in the afternoon and the pace was much…

Day 2 of dosage adjustment. Feeling slightly less funky than yesterday, but still a bit off. Yesterday I needed some Benadryl to curb the nervousness. We'll see if I need any today. Since I had a late run yesterday I stuck to walking this morning. 5k, half of which was uphill. It's a gloomy and rainy day here. I'm glad I…

So I did have a short-ish walk at lunch and I ran 3.2 miles after work. The running felt good. My pace is improving ever so gradually. Lots of rain headed this way. Cubs game is delayed, boo. But at least it's supposed to cool off some.

Argh! I wasn't able to get up this morning with enough time to run. I was just too worn out and wound up oversleeping. So that means I have to have a walk at lunch today. It's way too hot to walk outside, so I have to do laps around the atrium, which I hate because of all the people I have to dodge. I usually wind up…

It's super hot outside. Thank goodness for the treadmill. Did 2 miles running and 2 miles walking uphill yesterday. Found that my HR gets up just as high as running just from walking uphill. Nice. Today is Sunday, which is the day I usually feel super worn out, so it is a rest day. Tomorrow morning I'm back at it. Got a…

Hmm. I already do this every day on the treadmill in my house. Does that count? Not sure if I could do it out in public though. My body image is awful, especially since gaining weight.
-
Almost skipped my run this morning. Glad I didn't because it wound up feeling a lot better than previous runs. I started out at a slower pace than usual and just kept it nice and easy, ever so gradually increasing the pace. Managed to crank out 4 miles that way. I've done yoga twice this week, which is twice more than last…

I think you may get the award for Coolest Job Ever.

They must be too busy training for ultras.

I am frustrated. It's been so very difficult getting back into running with all the extra weight I've put on due to my medication. I feel like a lumbering buffalo when I run, and I run so, so slowly that it takes nearly a half hour just to do two miles. It almost doesn't feel worth it. I have to remind myself that when I…

Um... isn't that a fire hazard?

After a week of not doing it, I finally got some yoga done today. Hooray! Lots of core work in today's session. Ouch.
